In Episode 9 of “My Instant Death Ability,” Yogiri and Tomochika rejoin the students but keep their class and powers a secret from the others. It wasn’t a complete secret since three students were in Yogiri’s class purely because they were instructed to keep an eye on him and knew his identity too well. Other than this, the entire episode was a bunch of chaos.
The Divine King was betrayed by the bishop. Theodisia’s sister inherited the Origin Blood after Lain passed away, and Lute decided to open the seal of another dark god resting locked beneath the capital. One thing that was bound to happen took place. Ayaka Shinozaki, who came back from the dead, swore revenge on her classmates and killed one of them without any mercy.

2. Episode 10 Speculation
A lot of different stuff happened in episode 9, such as Yogiri and Tomochika reuniting with their classmates, Ayaka brutally murdering one of the students, and many more. Sion doesn’t want to play around with Yogiri anymore after seeing Aoi in such a traumatic state. Yogiri’s entire class is anything but normal. Tomochika has a ghost protecting her, Ayaka Shinozaki is a robot, more like a cyborg, and on top of that, three of the students were there just to keep a watch on Yogiri.
One of the most important highlights of the episode was that after the Divine King reached where her home used to be, she was greeted by a bishop. After learning that the dark god was dead, he asked the Divine King about the key to the seal, but she had no idea what the key was. Upon hearing this, the bishop cast some sort of skill on her, which severely weakened her. Lute has the key, but why does the bishop want it?
In the next episode, the candidates will enter the sixth floor of the underworld. Sage Sion made an interesting offer to one of the candidates, Haruto Otori, saying if he could kill Yogiri, she’d extend the time limit for the underworld. Yogiri might be ambushed while proceeding forward in the dungeon, in which case his true powers might be revealed to the students.
3. Recap of Episode 9
After escaping from Yogiri, Aoi hid in a crack between two dimensions where Sion visited her. Aoi was extremely terrified after witnessing what kind of monstrosity Yogiri was. She started screaming at Sion out of fear, so Sion didn’t manage to get much information from her. On the other side, Lute, who had captured Hanakawa, got out all the information about Yogiri he could get.
The king of Manii ordered all the sage candidates that they’d have to raid the underworld hidden beneath the capital and defeat the dark god on the seventh floor within the given time limit. All of the students were shocked to see Tomochika and Yogiri alive, but the viewers were in for something more shocking.
Ayaka Shinozaki wasn’t the only other unordinary student besides Yogiri. Three other students named Fukui Seiichi, Ryouko Ninomiya, and Carol S.Lane knew Yogiri’s true identity and not just the fact that he had instant death ability. These students knew exactly which entity Yogiri was. Since surveillance was meaningless in this world, these three decided to join forces with him.
Tomochika had improved her fighting throughout this journey, and Yogiri had to hide his powers. While entering the underworld, Rick guided the girls’ group, and David guided the boys. Before long, the students reached the 5th floor of the underworld, unprecedented and way before the expected time.
Around this time, Lute arrived at the capital with Hanakawa and went to the tavern to gather information. When they were asking around about the festival there, something surprising happened. Three of the sage candidates were also there and were approached by a mysterious lady. This person was none other than Ayaka Shinozaki, who was supposed to be dead.
She mercilessly killed one of the students by repeatedly punching him in the face and told the others that she’d be killing one student every day from that point, and they better be careful. After this, she left, but the troubles didn’t end there as Sage Sion came looking for Hanakawa. She asked Hanakawa for information about Yogiri, and in return for his help, she told him how to enter the underworld.
Later that night, Tomochika, Yogiri, Carol, and Ryouko sat together to discuss their next steps. Yogiri warned them that the dark god on the seventh floor would be a tough opponent to fight. He also added that it didn’t matter whether they won or lost since all they wanted was to face Sion. At that same time, one of the candidates found Sion’s location and visited her to extend the given time. Sion said she’d extend the time if he could kill Yogiri for her.
