My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission is an upcoming film following the Season 5 of MHA. To celebrate the anime’s 5th anniversary, a special film project was announced last year.
Mangaka Kōhei Horikoshi will be assisting the creators, so it’s safe to assume that the movie will be a side story.
Despite straying away from the main plot, World Heroes Mission’s new trailer looks hugely inviting and will surely be a fantastic addition to the franchise.
My Hero Academia is about the adventures of Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at UA High as they study and train to become superheroes of the future.
In a world where 80% of the human population is born with some superhuman quirk, heroes and villains have become a standard part of society. Midoriya, initially a “quirkless” kid, runs into his idol, All Might, the no. 1 hero.
After learning a heartbreaking secret, he takes on the torch from All Might and aims to become the next best Hero.
In Season 4, we finally saw how the position of no. 1 hero placed a massive responsibility on Endeavor’s shoulders.
After a chilling and goosebumps-inducing fight between a Nomu and Endeavor, the latter let go of his spite for All Might and changed a lot from his pompous self.
In the meanwhile, the students of class 1A make tremendous progress too. After a close encounter with death, they, too, realized the severity of being a hero and the absence of All Might.
1. Release Date
My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission will release on August 6, 2021, in Japan. Unfortunately, we still have no clue about the international release due to the seemingly never-ending COVID 19 Pandemic.
Considering the current situation, a release date for international audiences could be made after the film hits Japanese theaters.
The staff from the previous installments of MHA will make a return for the World Heroes Mission movie. The production will be handled by Studio BONES under the direction of Kenji Nagasaki.
The script will be from Yousuke Kuroda, and Yoshihiko Umakoshi will be the character designer. Music composition will be handled by Yuki Hayashi.
2. Visuals & Trailers
A new teaser visual has been released for the upcoming movie! The visual show Izuku, Bakugou, and Todoroki all suited up in their new “Stealth Suit.”
We also see Endeavor and Hawks accompanying the trio as they jump out in the night sky. The plot is going to be an original story that will take place around the Endeavor Agency Arc.
A new trailer announcing the arrival of My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission was also released on March 27 this year.
The trailer hinted towards the infamous villain Deku AU which got fans really excited. Obviously, our broccoli boy is far too passionate about saving lives, so this has to be a twisted set-up.
We get a glimpse at the antagonist who doesn’t seem to be a part of the Villain League. Instead, there seems to be a cult-like organization behind the havoc.
Finally, we also get a montage featuring Midoriya, Bakugou, and Todoroki, in a brand-new look as they bolt towards their goal of saving the world!
