Episode 18 Recap
All Might knows and feels within himself that his successor is conversing with his One For All predecessors as he sits alongside an unconscious Deku.
All the predecessors who previously yielded the quirk are present within the remnant world of One For All, including Yagi, aka All Might, whose consciousness is present here despite his current existence.
They ask Deku whether he’s ready to murder Shigaraki, whom they claim is possessed by hatred and whose opinion varies with Deku’s appraisal of Shigaraki’s current, hidden mentality, which he believes holds a confused man who’s crying out for aid.
Deku expresses his dissatisfaction with the situation and professes his desire to help Shigaraki despite his past atrocities. His forebearers then disclose that it was only a test, which he aced. They also divulge a few key details about their quirk, the most crucial of which being that Deku is the last wielder of One For All.
Meanwhile, Hawks and Best Jeanist surprise All Might by asking him about One For All. Later, the two heroes and Endeavor have a news conference where they face tough questioning from the media.
They admit to their claims and apologize, shocking the public and infuriating many, but that’s all they can do for the time being, along with Endeavor’s resolve to strive to solve the problem that the villains represent.
Episode 18 of My Hero Academia season 6 concludes with all of the Class 1-A students getting farewell letters from Midoriya, who confesses that he obtained his powers from All Might and is departing UA because his presence there constitutes a threat to all of them.
