Juzo decided to withdraw from the match. Ojiro used his Tail quirk with Sen Kaibara but Tenya arrived in time and grabbed Kaibara, and put him in jail.
Meanwhile, Todoroki and Tetsutetsu got in a fight. Tetsutetsu used his Steel quirk to destroy Todoroki. Todoroki, in response, used ice to block all his attacks.
After a long battle, both teams managed to put one opponent in jail. Vlad King revealed that the match has ended as a draw.

1. Episode 9 Preview & Speculation
Alongside the outstanding fight sequences and animation, I feel like Episode 8 had the best pacing of the season.
If Todoroki would go back and forth with his fire and ice and not be so stubborn, he could have won easily. Steel breaks a lot easier from quick temperature changes. Although, I still think that Deku has mental limitations, but he will probably overcome these in the future.
So, two more episodes until the main event. Not that I’m not excited for King Explosion Murder and ‘friends’ vs. Team B, but we’re clearly all here for Deku vs. Shinso anyway. I am really looking forward to the next episode as well. It’s Bakugo time and Setsuna.

Episode 9 of the My Hero Academia (2021) anime, titled “Early Bird!”, has been released on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

3. Episode 8 Recap
Juzo decides to withdraw from the match, so he swims through the soft ice and ground from his quirk, and heads to help Tetsutetsu. He thinks that he will find an opponent of the same level as him. Tenya Lida uses his quirk’ Engine’ to locate Juzo but couldn’t find him.
Izuku decides to write down about Recipro Turbo. He notices that Tenya’s Recipro Turbo is faster than Grand Torino’s Jet. At the same time, Mina tells everyone to look at Ojiro.
Jiro comments that Ojiro has improved a lot. Ojiro uses his Tail quirk with Sen Kaibara, who uses quirk Gyrate. Tenya arrives in time and grabs Kaibara, and puts him in jail.
Kaibara asks Tenya to let him go. Ojiro reminds Tenya that it is not fair for him to interfere in a one-on-one battle. Ojiro is surprised that he is inside the jail within a minute. Meanwhile, Todoroki and Tetsutetsu get in a fight. Tetsutetsu tells Todoroki to eat his fist and lands a heavy blow at his stomach.
Eijiro Kirishima notices that Tetsutetsu’s Steel Hardening gives him a big advantage. Tetsutetsu uses Steal to destroy Todoroki. Todoroki, in response, uses ice to block all his attacks.
Todoroki unleashes a wall of flames and burns Tetsutetsu, and leaves Tsunotori to Shoji. Todoroki is surprised that the flames did no damage. After a long and rough battle, both teams manage to put one opponent in jail. Vlad King reveals that the match has ended as a draw.
4. About My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected in 37 tankōbon volumes as of February 2023.
