In Episode 17, titled ‘The Hellish Todoroki Family,’ Izuku and Bakugo learned about the situation inside the Todoroki family.
Earlier in the episode, Fuyumi called her father and asked to bring his three interns home for dinner. So the three arrived at Todoroki’s house, where they met Shoto’s elder sister Fuyumi and his brother Natsuo.
Natsuo left the table when Endeavor commented that he wants to eat his cooked food, which left Izuku and Bakugo wondering about the situation.
They learned that their mother met with an accident after Endeavor tried to separate Shoto from her and the rest of the family.

Episode 18 Preview & Speculation
The tension around the table was quite intense, and we got an insight into the Todoroki family. However, the episode didn’t reveal who Toya is and how he died. Also, I wonder how much Endeavor was involved in his death.
The way he yearned for him, it looks like Toya was his favorite child. We hope the upcoming episodes will reveal more about the boy.
In the next episode’s preview, as the interns spend more time at Endeavor’s house, a villain with a grudge against Endeavor comes to pick a fight with him. Izuku, Shoto, and Bakugo join the fight between the duo.
It doesn’t look like he is the usual kind of villain because the motive to defeat Endeavor seemed strong in his eyes.
But Endeavor is the number one hero. So the next episode will make things more straightforward.

Episode 17 Recap
One week after starting their Work-Studies at the Endeavor’s Agency, Izuku, Bakugo, and Todoroki continue trying to catch villains before Endeavor but fail to do so every time.
After a long day, Endeavor returns to his office and looks at the Meta Liberation War book, thinking about Hawks’ warning.
Suddenly he gets a call from his daughter Fuyumi, who asks him to bring the kids for dinner the following night. After he hangs up, he thinks about a recurring dream he’s been having lately, where his family always have dinner and fun together, but without him.
Then, he reflects on the past when he isolated Todoroki away from his siblings. His wife tried to stop him, but it only made them grow apart to the point where she lost her senses and met with an accident. As a result, both his sons, Shoto and Natsuo, hold a grudge against him.
The following day, while patrolling, Endeavor asks them to come for dinner. Deku and Bakugo accept the invitation and arrive at Todoroki house.
At the dinner table, Izuku praises the food when Natsuo mentions how Fuyumi does all the cooking. Fuyumi responds that Natsuo has also cooked some of the food, leaving Shoto surprised.
Natsuo comments that Endeavor probably didn’t let him eat any of it, making the vibes awkward. Then, when Endeavor says he wants to try some of his cooking, Natsuo gets up and leaves. Meanwhile, Izuku and Bakugo wonder what’s wrong with the Todoroki family.
Later, Izuku and Bakugo overhear the conversation between Shoto and Fuyumi, mentioning everything in their family. Shoto says how he can’t forgive their father so easily for what he did to their mother.
He also mentions a letter he received recently from their mother saying she’ll be discharged soon. The two enter the room, and Izuku tells Shoto that he is a kind person and that it’s OK not to forgive him if he doesn’t want to.
Meanwhile, Natsuo and Endeavor overhear this discussion. Endeavor goes back to his room and prays at the altar of a deceased young boy named Toya. He wishes Toya could’ve been there too.
In the post-credit scene, a hooded man is released from prison and walks around the city. He comes across a television playing Endeavor’s debut fight and smiles creepily.
