Boku no Hero Academia’s season four premiered earlier this month with a recap episode under the premise of a reporter exploring the lives of the students of class 1-A in UA. However, the second episode of season four unexpectedly started off a significant arc with a war between two top 2 villains. Slowly catching up on the manga, the anime finally introduced Overhaul, leader of the Yakuza, to the fanbase with an action scene against the League of Villains.
Overhaul meets up with the League of Villains at a mutually decided unmarked warehouse and was taken to Shigaraki, with his associates at his side. Tomura revealed that All For One once showed him a picture of the young Yakuza Captain of the Shie Hassaikai, Overhaul himself. Ridiculing the Yakuza, Compress talked about how Yakuza are just an ancient relic before the age of heroes dawned on this world, and how they are only rats looking for shelter now.
Overhaul talked about a new perspective to the fall of All For One. Yakuza elders revered and feared All For One but they’ve learned of his recent downfall. Overhaul explained how there is no king of light or darkness anymore. Tomura claimed that he will become the next king of evil and Overhaul inquired him about his plans, pointing out the strategic weakness of the League of Villains. The Yakuza claims that power is useless without a plan and Tomura wasted first-class pawns like Stain, Muscular and Moonfish in the past.
Overhaul asked the League of Villains to come under his wing, but Tomura told him to leave. Magne refused to submit to Overhaul and attacked. Overhaul, while defending himself brutally murders Magne with his quirk. Compress rushed into action but got shot with a Quirk Nullifying Bullet allowing Overhaul to blow his left arm clean off.
Tomura attacked, but one of Overhaul’s followers sacrificed himself to protect his master. Overhaul’s other followers burst into the hideout, revealing the shooter behind the quirk nullifying bullet and the villain asks that everyone calm down. He claims it’s unfortunate the meeting turned hostile and says they’re both down a member. Twice and Himiko want to avenge their allies, but Tomura orders them to stand down. Overhaul leaves his card and asks Tomura to contact him when his group has relaxed.
