My Hero Academia’s sixth season teases a darker turn of events for Deku and his friends as heroes from U.A. High School fight tooth and nail against the Paranormal Liberation Front. On top of everything, Shigaraki’s has unlocked a whole new level of his Decay quirk since the season 5 finale.
Season 6 of My Hero Academia premiered just recently; and unlike other seasons, this one won’t have recap episodes. Let me help you out with that.
1. My Hero Academia Season 1 Recap
The first season of My Hero Academia revolves around the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, training hard to inherit All Might’s quirk since he doesn’t have a quirk. It also includes the U.A. High School entrance examination towards the end.
Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless boy, aims to become a hero but is discouraged by Japan’s number one hero, All Might, and Bakugo from becoming one since he has no quirks. However, All Might chooses Midoriya as the successor for One for All when Midoriya saves Bakugo from the villain he was fighting earlier.
Midoriya trains under the tutelage of All Might and passes the physical exam, despite injuring himself gravely to save others in the battlefield. He also butts heads with Bakugo during a group training exercise.
Tomura and his gang of villains attack the school after they notice All Might has joined as a teaching staff. He tries to draw All Might out to fight him by using his multi-quirk monster, Nomu, against the students.
All Might has no choice but to jump into the fight. He tries to hold back Shigaraki and the other villains with the little strength he has to the point his skin starts to sizzle. U.A High’s students hold off the villains long enough until Eraser Head, Present Mic and few other teachers drive the villains away for good.
2. My Hero Academia Season 2 Recap
Season 2 focuses on the sports festival arc. We get more insight into Midoriya’s and All Might’s quirks and Tomura’s team makes a comeback along with the rise of a new villain, Hero Killer: Stain.
Midoriya learns the limitations of his quirk when All Might informs him that he can retain his hero form for only 50 minutes. He encourages Midoriya to take on the title of the Symbol for Peace by showing off during Sports Festival.
Class 1-A dominate the rankings during the festival since they have the experience of fighting villains in an actual battle before.
Shoto Todoroki, a fellow classmate, draws the conclusion that Midoriya might be the son of All Might due to the similarities in their quirks and reveals his father is Endeavor, the number two hero in Japan. He vows to surpass him since his father never managed to surpass All Might.
Todoroki and Midoriya engage in a thrilling battle during the sports festival. Midoriya injures himself and Todoroki almost ends up with hypothermia but emerges victorious nonetheless by using his fire quirk. Todoroki then fights Bakugo, but relents and allows him to win.
Meanwhile, the villains try to recruit Stain but their efforts are not rewarded since he turns down their offer, since he kills heroes only for glory. Midoriya joins a hero internship under Gran Torino.
New Nomus attack the city, and it’s up to Midoriya to stop Tenya from being reckless and fighting against Stain alone to exact the revenge for his brother. Midoriya, Tenya and Todoroki fight against him and become victorious.
All Might reveals that All for One has the ability to transfer quirks and he used this ability to transfer quirks to quirkless people, including his younger brother, Yoichi. Yoichi is the one who had possessed the original One for All ability, and using his passive quirk, he had transferred his ability to his successor so they can defeat All for One.
3. My Hero Academia Season 3 Recap
In Season 3, the students of U.A. High face the League of Villains once again during their summer break and Bakugo gets kidnapped by the villains.
Class 1-A gets attacked by Tomura’s group led by Dabi when they are training in the woods during the summer break. They manage to achieve their goal of kidnapping Bakugou by dragging him through a Kurogiri portal.
Midoriya, Kirishima, Todoroki, and Momo set out on a mission to save their friend by using the tracker she implanted on one of the Nomu during the battle.
The reason the League of Villains kidnaps Bakugo was to persuade him to join them because of his aggression, but he refuses their offer. All Might rescues Bakugo by using One for All for the last time, handing over his quirk to Midoriya.
Todoroki, Bakugo and Midoriya fail the Provisional Hero License exam. Bakugo and Midoriya end up fighting with each other due to Midoriya’s borrowed ability, and they are suspended from the school for a few days by Aizawa.
When Midoriya comes back to the school, they are introduced to the Big 3 (Mirio, Amajiki and Hada). Mirio’s mentor, Overhaul, is revealed to be a villain who works under League of Villains.
4. My Hero Academia Season 4 Recap
Season 4 puts the new villain, Overhaul, into the spotlight as he attempts to eliminate quirks by using a girl named Eri, who has the quirk to reverse the state of living things.
Overhaul plans to use one bullet shot by using Eri to remove quirks for good. Midoriya and Mirio try to rescue Eri and they are successful in their attempt. However, Mirio pays a heavy price during this mission as one of the bullets hit him and he loses his quirk.
We also witness the true nature of Endeavour in this season. It’s shown that he married Todoroki’s mother only because he wanted to surpass All Might by having her give birth to a child with a powerful quirk.
He does achieve his goal of surpassing All Might since the new rankings of top 10 heroes list him as the number one hero.
5. My Hero Academia Season 5 Recap
Season 5 follows Midoriya dreaming about the previous One for All users during the Joint Training Arc. It also showcases the battle between the Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains in Deika City.
Midoriya awakens his new quirk, Blackwhip, when he participates in the battle between Class A and Class B. Shinso, a student from Class C who has a mind control quirk, helps Midoriya out to help him hone his skills.
Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugou enroll themselves in the Work Studies program and start an internship under Endeavour. Meanwhile, Endeavour receives a secret message from Hawks that the Meta Liberation Army plans to attack Japan.
The Meta Liberation Army and the League of Villains battle against one another to determine who’s superior. Tomura’s gang wins after he turns Dekai City into a giant crater with his quirk. The Meta Liberation Army and League of Villains join hands to form the Paranormal Liberation Front.
