My Hero Academia Heroes Rising – New Quirk Stealing Villain

My Hero Academia’s season feature film, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, was released in Japanese theatres on 20th December 2019.

The film revolves around the adventures of the students of Class 1-A as they go to an island to receive specialized training. A new group of powerful villains, accompanied by the mysterious “Nine,” are the antagonists for this movie.

Nine, a self-proclaimed heir to All for One, is the main antagonist of My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising. His original quirk works similar to All for One’s quirk, however, allows him to store up to 9 quirks in his body (inclusive of his quirk).

Parallel to All for One and Shigaraki’s goals, Nine is aiming to dismantle the current structure of the world to build a new one in which the strong prey on the weak.

His ability to harbour nine quirks in his body is quite menacing but comes with a severe re-coil. On using his powers excessively, Nine suffers a lot of pain as his cells individually begin breaking down.

After a long search to find a quirk to heal his body, he locates a young boy named Katsuma, who is currently living on a remote island with his sister. The same island where Class 1-A is about to receive specialized training, which puts the two groups on a collision course.

Midoriya and Bakugo takedown Nine using the full capacity of One for All. In this dire situation, Midoriya transfers One for All to Bakugo for a short duration, and the duo defeats Nine with a flashy move.

About Boku no Hero Academia:

My Hero Academia is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected in 24 tankōbon volumes as of August 2019.

It follows a quirkless boy Izuku Midoriya and how he backed the greatest Hero alive. Midoriya, a boy who has been admiring heroes and their ventures since the day he was born, came into this world without a quirk.

On one fateful day, he meets All Might the greatest Hero of all time and discovers that he was quirkless as well. With his diligent attitude and unwavering spirit about being a hero, Midoriya manages to impress All Might. He is chosen to be the heir to the power of One for All.
