What Happened in the Finale?

The chapter begins with Deku’s monologue about his heroism and his story. At this point, it is revealed that Deku is now a teacher at UA. This is a direct result of him losing one-for-all, which now just exists within him as embers.

The Pro Heroes:

We get to see that several of Midoriya’s classmates are now really famous Pro-heroes, some of them being as sensational as Jeanist or Hawks.

Ochako, Tsuyu, Yaoyorozu, and Iida, who are Pro-heroes, are currently touring elementary schools nationwide.

The world now has an ever-declining villain rate, which makes the need for heroes much less than before. This is when Ochako’s plan to help children with quirk counseling came into action.

The decline in number of villains is quite temporary. To make this more of a permanent effect, it is important for children to know the correct usages for their quirks, as this directly ties to the villain output. This is the goal behind Uravity and her foundation.

As far as popularity among heroes is concerned, all of us know who wouldn’t make it to the top: Bakugo. Aizawa revealed to Deku how Bakugo deals with his fans brashly, also mentioning how Todoroki is rising in the ranks.

As far as other pro heroes are concerned, Shoji has received a Peace Prize for all his outstanding actions since becoming a pro. He is now one of the major reasons for the reduction of discrimination against Heteromorphs.

It was also mentioned that Togata had climbed up the charts, surpassing Mt Lady and Kamui Woods. He truly did live up to Sir Nighteye’s predictions by becoming one of the best heroes out there.

Even Tokoyami and Kirishima are really popular now among the boys because of their chivalrous and manly demeanor.

Does Deku Miss Being a Hero?

While talking with all of his old classmates, Aizawa asks Deku if he misses the hero work. He dodges the question by saying that he feels if his previous hero work can help him at least a little to educate young minds, then that’s really cool by itself.

However, he does express his sadness later about the fact that he gets less time to hang out with his friends after they started working. At this point, Deku meets a middle school boy who recognizes him. They have a small conversation there.

The boy asks Deku if he could also become a hero even though his quirk isn’t all that useful. Deku smiles and encourages him. This is when he reveals that he actually misses being a hero.

Although quite a few kids that previously belonged to class 1A were left out, it is almost certain that most of them would’ve found themselves somewhere on the ranks as pro heroes, all of them giving their all toward bettering the world.

Is This the End For Deku As A Hero?

Right before the manga ended, All Might pulls over with a surprise for Deku. Apparently, technology develops just as much as quirks do over the years. He then reveals that Hatsume, with the help of all Bakugo and all his friends, helped develop a device for Deku to leap into action again.

All Might tells Deku that he has earned this fair and square, just like he did One-For-All. We get to see a delighted Midoriya, who is ready to take on his favorite job once again. With this, the tale of the kids becoming the greatest of heroes came to an end.
