My Hero Academia Chapter 430 starts with Deku’s and Tomura’s words at the end of the war. “You’ve always destroyed it”. Deku repeats the narration from the first chapter but with some changes. “People are not born equal. Each of us have a different form or shape but, despite of that, we still care for others. And these differences, both internal and external allows us to run towards other people and search for a point of intersection.”

Kota enters the teacher’s room, calling, “Big brother Mido…Deku Sensei”. He goes on to ask where the students should gather for the afternoon class. We see Deku wearing a suit and writing in his notebook.

“This is the truth about the society that I learned when I was 17. That day I heard everyone’s voices, and that motivates me to this day. If caring for others is the first step to becoming a hero, then that day, everyone was the greatest hero.”

We can see many panels showing different things. We see Deku returning home, smiling at his mother. All Might can be seen helping Gran Torino to walk, students taking exams, and during the sports festival. Miriko testing new prosthetics and Mt Lady and Kamui working together. Shoji and Koda can be seen shaking hands with a heteromorphic scientist.

The illustrations continue as it shows Tokoyami and Hawks talking, Aizawa and Present Mic in a graveyard, Kota and Eri holding hands while Mandalay looks proud, Endeavor with his sidekicks, students meeting Melissa, the League of the Villains’ book being sold, Bakugou in rehab, Deku and Ochako in the snow together wearing scarfs and Compress reading the book.

Deku’s narration continues as he talks about how he was able to live a dream which seemed impossible. He tells how his body moved even before he could think has come to an end along with the embers of the One for All. As the narration continues, we see a panel showing the fading embers.

Later, we see panels of the graduation showing how they followed the U.A’s tradition as Bakugou and Monoma blew up the stage after Iida’s speech. The narration continues- “Do you want to know why I’m still writing? Well, because there are still some pages left.”

Eight Years Later

We see Dai’s classroom as the teacher asks the students what they want to become. One among them answers that he wants to become a hero. One wants to work in Hatsume’s lab and another to become a doctor like Dr. Yoshida. One wants to join La Brava’s company.

One among the students notices that Dai wants to become a hero. He tells Dai that he will never make it with his quirk. He adds that since there are few villains, the no. of heroes is stabilized now. Therefore, only the strongest kids will have the chance to become heroes.

This conversation impacts him as he says after school that the people have changed. When he was a kid, everyone wanted to be like All Might, Deku, Endeavor, Jeanist, or Dynamight. He feels like the only one still acting childish and insecure. This is why he visits All Might’s statue.

Cut to Others

The manga then shows Shoji receiving the Imamura Award for his efforts in peacefully resolving prejudice-based incidents. He dedicates this to the heteromorphs who marched to the hospital eight years ago, as he believes that he is still here because of their will.

Then we see the Ingenium, Creati, Froppy, and Uravity teams visiting the schools all over the country. It then moves on to show how the quirk counseling expansion project started by Uraraka is one of the most essential aspects of the society. We can see a panel of Eri with her friends from the music club.

Aizawa shows Deku a video of Bakugou screaming at a civilian for filming him close. He was sure he would fall in the ranking with this action, resulting in Todoroki shooting ahead. Shoto patrols all day, treating his fans well. Hardly anyone calls him “Endeavor’s son” nowadays. Deku says he will pass Mt. Lady, Kamui, or even Mirio in the rankings. He also expressed his impression of Monoma and Honenuki’s rankings.

Aizawa asks if Deku feels lonely. He answers that he did during the talk with Fuwa and Aizawa (Chapter 425). He says he realized he could use his knowledge and experience to help others even without his quirk. He believes that this is a cool way to live. He asks Aizawa if he agrees with this.

Aizawa tells Deku that he should be stricter with his students because most students who enter U.A think they are guaranteed to become heroes. So, it’s important to be strict that they won’t get arrogant. Deku says that he barely sees his friends after graduation as their days off don’t coincide.

You too can be a Hero

On his way home, he sees official Tokoyami products and Kirishima on T.V. Some children run past shouting “Unbreakable”, but one of them stumbles. Deku rushes forward to catch the kid, and so does Dai, but he stumbles too.

Dai recognizes Deku and tells him about his insecurities and frequent visits to All Might’s statue when feeling down. He asks Deku whether he, too, will be able to become a hero like All Might and him. This reminds Deku of the time he asked All Might and started to analyze his quirks in his usual way.

Dai gets a bit startled but realizes that he is helping him. “Now it’s my turn to give people dreams” Deku tells Dai that he will be fine because he ran to save the kid too. He assures Dai that he can become a hero. We then see that All Might’s statue is not the only one present. They added statues of people rooting for him.

Deku tells Dai to give his best. “If I said I’m not a bit sad, I’d be lying. However, I can at least encourage other people like that. And that was the story of how we all became the greatest heroes.”

MHA…The End

The End

It doesn’t stop there, haha. All Might appears out of nowhere and smashes “The End” with his own hands. He apologizes for the delay. Deku tells him that he could have visited him at the airport, but All Might replies that he wanted to give him a surprise. The data from his fight with All for One eight years ago opened up many possibilities. All Might says that technology evolves like quirks as he holds his briefcase.

Deku comments that it must have cost a lot for the thing inside the briefcase. But All Might replies that it was developed by his friends from the US and Hatsume and financed by Class A alumnae, specifically Bakugou. He hands it over to Deku and tells him that he earned this power fair and square.

Bakugou shouts and calls Deku, asking him to come over. We can see Hawks working and being informed about a landslide on a highway, which he asks some heroes to solve. Deku jumps with his support item and sees Shigaraki’s ghost beneath. The final double spread of MHA Chapter 430 shows Class A students as adults in their hero costumes.

“This is the story of how we will continue to reach out.”
