Toya’s body inherited Rei’s endurance to cold, but not Enji’s endurance to heat. This resulted in Toya getting severe burns over and over. Enji and Rei tried to take Toya’s mind off of the goal Enji set for him, but to no avail.

To break Toya’s will, Enji decided to have another child and pass on his dream. This had a bitter effect on Toya. The chapter ends as Toya, filled with rage, goes in to attack the newborn.
