Previously Star and Stripe had assumed the villain before her was All For One, but the pilot tells her she was wrong. The villain in front of her was Shigaraki Tomura, poised to attack.
The pilot asked her if the force was going to advance or retreat, she just said one word “smash”.
The pilot remarks how even one of the jets making it back to base would be good enough, hinting that most soldiers supporting Star and Stripe in missions don’t return.
Star and Stripe also assures her men that if they die, she’ll make sure to return their bodies to their families, pretty solid as assurances go.
As Star and Stripe commands the soldiers to assume formation, Shigaraki faces an inner crisis where he feels like himself and not himself at the same time.
Shigara launches an attack at Star and Stripe, which she has no problem dodging. Shigaraki then mockingly asks her who she thinks will land the first hit out of the two of them.
Star and Stripe, in turn, boasts how she’s truly the strongest there is and proceeds to use her quirk. Her quirk, called ” New Order,” is to create and maintain two rules, one upon herself and one on her opponent whom she has to touch and who’s name she has to call.
She creates the rule that the atmosphere from where she is to 100 meters in front of her would cease to exist. She repeatedly attacks Shigaraki with lasers and lands a hit.
She then holds the laser in her hands and directs it at him but he regenerates. The vacuum she had created also comes undone.
Star and Stripe has a flashback, and we see how All Might had saved her and her family from a villain, the reason she was so grateful to him.
She tells Shigaraki her and All Might’s story, subsequently landing on him and calling his name, imposing the rule that if he moves an inch, then his heart would stop, but he does.
This shocks Star and Stripe, which is revealed to be because of Shigaraki being assimilated into All For One. He is neither of them, and a completely new being has emerged. In the end, a voice in Shigaraki’s head tells him to let his hatred for him fuel his villainy.
