‘My Happy Marriage’ is a story of a woman who was ill-treated by her own family. She does not have the powers her family is known for. While she learns to live in despair, she is betrothed by her family to a man known for being cruel.
Just when she is ready to accept her fate, she finds out something that would change her life for good. The cruel man she feared never existed. Behind a cold face, there was a kind heart in him that she had yearned for all this time.
On Sunday, Kadokawa revealed the second promotional video for ‘My Happy Marriage’. The promo features the opening theme song in the background and the release date. The anime will premiere on July 5, with Netflix streaming the series.
In the video, Kiyoka Kudo introduces himself to Miyo Saimori. Miyo dwells on her past experiences and feels gloomy. Later, the kinder side of Kiyoka is shown as he tries to comfort her. Lastly, Miyo fears that Kiyoka does not know that she does not possess any abilities, with her sister Kaya waiting for her marriage to fail.
The opening song “Anata no Soba ni” (By Your Side) is performed by Riria. Kashitarō Itō has performed the ending theme song “Itaphilosophy”.

The ‘My Happy Marriage’ light novel series has been in serialization since January 2019 by Fujimi Shobo. A manga adaptation is also published on the Gangan Online website since December 2018. For the anime, the main staff handling the production is listed below:

The first chapter of ‘My Happy Marriage’ is enough to disillusion anyone about marriage. Not all of them end up as they expect. The supernatural ability is interesting but subtle addition. That is what makes the shojo genre a fun read – not too flashy, but a deeper and emotionally engaging narrative.
About My Happy Marriage
My Happy Marriage(Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon) is a romance and fantasy light novel series written by Akumi Agitogi and illustrated by Tsukiho Tsukioka. Fujimi Shobo publishes the series under its Fujimi L Bunko imprint since January 2019.
It follows a Cinderella-like plot with the protagonist Miyo being treated like a servant by her family and her being married off to the cold and ruthless military commander, Kiyoka Kudou. Over time, Miyo discovers that Kudou is actually a warm and kind-hearted gentleman while getting over her insecurities and building up her damaged self-esteem.
