Muv-Luv Episode 2: Release Date, Speculation, And Watch Online

Muv-Luv Alternative episode one titled “The State of the World,” aired this week.

In the first episode, the current condition of the world was explained to us. We learned about the BETA, their origin, and the amount of damage they have caused humanity.

We also got to see the introduction of Komaki and how she contributed when their defensive fortress was under attack.

Episode 2 Speculations and Discussions

The title of episode two has not been revealed. 

Based on the very short snippet at the end of episode one, it is safe to assume that one of the crucial characters will be introduced.

Also, I’m sure we will see significant developments in the next episode showing the progression of humanity ever since their last considerable loss.

It is also possible that we will see Komaki be in a superior position after her contribution in their last battle. I also have a feeling that even the girl she saved will be directly working under her. 

Episode 2 Release Date

Episode 2 of the Muv-Luv anime has been released on Thursday, Oct 14, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

1. Is Muv-Luv Alternative on Break This Week?

No, Muv-Luv Alternative is not on break this week. Episode two is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

Recap of Episode 1

Episode one, titled “The State of the World,” starts with the narration of the origin of BETA and the changes that have taken place since then.

In 1973, hostile extraterrestrial lifeforms called the BETA landed on Earth and started attacking the planet.

By 1998, practically the whole Eurasian landmass had fallen, crushing the worldwide populace to around two billion people, and the BETA started attacking Japan, invading almost 50% of the island country.

To retaliate, humankind has come up with the Tactical Surface Fighter, enormous mechas explicitly intended to battle BETA.

Even then, they are unable to overpower them and are continuously facing losses.

One of their pilots, Sayoko Komaki, is moved to a Japanese army installation in Sadogashima, a primary vital defensive point.

Her comrades welcome her and try to make her feel at home. She is also given an escort to help her get used to the place.

Nonetheless, the peace is very short since a massive BETA group assaults Sadogashima.

Even though Sayoko and the base’s protectors give it their all, the BETA overpowers them to take over the region.

Rather than remaining behind to battle, Sayoko is requested to accompany refugee transports for evacuation. She and the last few survivors of Sadogashima leave the region.

Sayoko is ready to return to battle and help her comrades, but her superior tells her to stay back and survive.

The episode ends with Sadogashima being labeled as the 21st BETA hive, and the remainder of Japan immediately fell, with 36 million individuals dead or missing.

About Muv-Luv

Muv-Luv is originally an adult game that was released for Windows in the year 2003.

It consists of two parts: Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Unlimited. It was later adapted into a Japanese visual novel developed by age 2003. The game was followed by a sequel, Muv-Luv Alternative.

The Muv-Luv franchise is also home to several other styles of games, many manga spin-offs, and anime series such as “Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse” (2012) and “Schwarzesmarken” (2016).

In Muv-Luv Alternative, the protagonist Takeru wakes up three years after the end of the previous adaptation, Muv-Luv Unlimited, and finds himself back in his room.

He initially thinks that it was all a dream until he leaves his house to find that he has traveled back in time to when the events in Unlimited first began.

Unable to accept Alternative V, he aids professor Kouzuki in saving mankind by completing Alternative IV.
