Mushoku Tensei Season 2 is an upcoming sequel to the popular isekai anime by the same name. Written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka, it was originally a light novel series published online and later in print through the Monthly Comic Flapper.
The story will continue the adventures of our protagonist, Rudeus Greyrat, who was reborn in an alternate fantasy dimension with all his memories intact but a new affinity for magic. He steadily progresses through this unique new world by quickly outgrowing all his peers in strength.
The sequel will be adapted by Studio Bind, who are relatively new in the business, having only adapted Mushoku Tensei and Onimai. Similar to the first season, the upcoming part of the series will be released on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Muse Asia.
1. Episode 1 Speculation
The first season has left Rudeus in a difficult position as Eris abandons him with nothing but a lock of her hair, leaving him alone in his journey to find all the missing members of his family. He will likely step out in search for her, but it is unlikely that she intends to be found.
The trailer hints at a training arc as Rudeus wanders through extremely dangerous areas in his search while grasping a single lock of Eris’s hair. However, we also see a glimpse of his childhood friend Sylphy who now seems to have white hair, which could either be a result of her training or the teleportation, something that could be explained in the first episode.

3. Recap of Episode 0
While Lady Ariel calmly has a pleasant meal in her courtyard, a colossal explosion alerts all the guards and the beasts of the forest. The cause is Sylphy falling through the air, throwing spells around, and eventually landing right on top of a boar’s head, knocking it out.
After she wakes up, Ariel informs her of her hometown’s disappearance and promises to help her find her family. Sylphy works alongside Luke in disguise and helps her with her royal duties, including political meetings.
She gains a reputation as the Silent Fitz since she never speaks, but her elf ears allow her to hear everyone talking around the entire room easily. Big events quickly make her uncomfortable, and she gets dizzy, but Ariel always has her back whenever needed.
Over time, Syphy learns all the customs of the palace as well as how to behave among the royals. However, she still hasn’t managed to progress in finding any of her old family or friends, and this keeps her up at night. The following night, Ariel invites her to sleep with her instead so that she may have a peaceful sleep.
She isn’t the only one having nightmares, and Ariel is still kept up some nights thinking about the day she was almost killed. That night Sylphy remains awake, she spots an assassin enter the room, but she blasts her away with the magic she learned from home.
The following morning reveals that the assassin was the Nights Eye Crow, an infamous killer who has taken the lives of multiple nobles thus far. Ariel then relieves her of her duty as Guardian trying to demnish her will of wanting to find her friends and family, but Sylphy has already decided that she wants to protect her instead.
