Rudeus enrolls as a special student in episode 5 of Mushoku Tensei Season 2, titled “Ranoa University of Magic.”

After a grueling journey to Ranoa with Elinalise, Rudeus finally makes it safely and heads to the University. Jenius had recruited him after hearing about his silent incantations and asked him to prove it in a duel against Fitz.

Neither uses incantations on their spells, and Rudeus manages to defeat him quickly. After convincing every one of his skills, he joins the Academy and runs into some old faces.

2. Episode 6 Speculation

Rudeus is now a special student at the Ranoa University of Magic. His primary purpose here is to research mass teleportation as God told him to. However, he may also attend classes that intrigue his curiosity about magic.

Fitz does an excellent job hiding his true identity, especially from Rudeus. He is likely adamant about keeping his cover in the Kingdom and may even try to adopt this identity forever.

Cliff, a second year in the Academy, mentioned Eris and might know her whereabouts. Rudeus has still not gotten over her and may eventually try and sue some drastic measures against Cliff to find out where she is.

3. Recap of Episode 5

Elinalise and Rudeus finally reach the Kingdom of Ranoa, and he leaves to meet Jenius about the offer letter. Elinalise also joins him, and he eventually learns that she’s been cursed. The curse will kill her unless she sleeps with men regularly, which explains a lot.

Jenius sits down with both of them and asks Rudeus to take part in a test. On the way, they tour the beautiful Academy filled with huge buildings. In the main hall, Jenius asks Rudeus to demonstrate his silent casting and introduces him to Fitz.

Fitz can also use silent casting, and Rudeus takes him on in a duel. Using Disturb Magic, he immediately upstages her and wins the battle. He enrolls as a student and dines in the main hall, where Ariel arrives to give them a speech.

Rudeus goes to his first class and runs into Zanoba, who is excited to see him again. He also introduces him to Linia, a fifth year catgirl. Along with them, he meets Cliff Grimoire, who proclaims himself a prodigy. He mentions Eris, and Rudeus tries to ask him more questions.

He doesn’t get anything more out of him and leaves for the library to find resources. Rudeus runs into Fitz and talks to him about his goals and everything that happened in the last couple of years. Later in the courtyard, Luke Greyrat introduces himself to Rudeus.

Rudeus realizes that he’s a cousin from the Notos branch of the family, and Zanoba explains that he’s here to guard Ariel. After studying in the library, Rudeus wanders around the campus and accidentally walks down the women’s dormitory path, where he runs into Goliade.

Goliade immediately jumps to conclusions and grabs Rudeus, threatening to make an example out of him for breaking the rules. Fitz notices the tussle and quickly intervenes, convincing her to let Rudeus go since he doesn’t know the rules.
