In episode 23, titled “Wake Up and Take a Step,” Rudeus got depressed after Eris left and was reminded of his previous life. Eris and Ghislaine spoke about Dead End’s adventures.
Eris decided to train harder to protect her dear ones. Ruijerd kept helping others and wasn’t feared for being a Sperd. Roxy found out that Zenith was alive and got her location from Kishirika. Roxy and her party decided to find Zenith.
Rudeus dreamt of how his mother Zenith cared for him. After Rudeus recalled his mother’s love, he decided to look for her. In the end, Sylphie recommended Rudeus to the members of the Ranoa Magic Academy.

Episode 24 Discussion
Mushoku Tensei is a series that gives you a great experience visually and emotionally. We have come to the finale of season 1, and fans were happy they got to see the adventures portrayed well so far.
A lot of foreshadowing for what is to come was shown in the final episode. Will Rudeus find his mother soon? What adventures lie for Rudeus, Eris and Ruijerd? Fans are excited to see the next adventures for Rudeus and his friends.
We can expect to see Rudeus grow into an adult as he faces the next adventure to find his mother. He might meet Sylphie(Fitts) in the process and join the magic academy.
Each character seen in the final episode will add to the major plot in the next season. We’ll have to wait and see how the series unfolds as the episodes get released for the anime.

Episode 23 Recap
This episode starts with Eris and Ghislaine going on their journey. Meanwhile, as the people of Fittoa work towards getting things better, Rudeus is moping in his bed after Eris left. The scenes go back to Rudeus in his past life.
He tries to question some bullies for cutting the line at lunch break. Later, it shows how he got into depression after being humiliated by the bullies. Rudeus wonders what he could’ve done back then to be stronger.
Alphonse meets Rudeus and says to rebuild Fittoa, Rudeus’ help would be appreciated. He states the village is growing, and it’s tough to survive with limited resources.
Rudeus thinks Alphonse is asking him to leave, but Alphonse says he was reminding Rudeus isn’t the only one suffering.
Afterward, Eris talks about her experiences with Ruijerd and Rudeus to Ghislaine. She states how she wasn’t afraid because Rudeus was by her side. After meeting the Dragon God, she knew she couldn’t do anything to protect Rudeus.
Eris exclaims she loves Rudeus and states she’ll train harder to get strong and defeat the Dragon God. Ruijerd is seen praised by some men for stopping a ferocious beast. The men find that Ruijerd is a demon and a Sperd.
They are excited that a Sperd helped them compared to the stories they heard as kids. Ruijerd is dazed and asks them if they aren’t afraid of him. The men say after saving them, how can that be the case. They then can’t wait to tell others about meeting a Sperd.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the characters that team Dead End met on their journey are shown. Roxy and her team are seen in a pub. Kishirika is also partaking with the team. After the drinking challenge, Kishirika gets in trouble for the payments by the bartender.
Roxy saves Kishirika and finds out that Kishirika is the Great Emperor of the Demon World. Kishirika states Roxy can ask her a wish since she helped the demon emperor. Roxy says she wants to find Rudeus and his missing family’s locations.
Kishirika sees that Paul has met Aisha and Lilia and is living safely. She looks further for Zenith and finds her but can’t view her. Roxy finds out that Zenith is located in Rapan of the Begaritt Continent. Roxy asks about Rudeus, and Kishirika states he’s sulking in the Central Continent.
After giving the information, Kishirika goofily sets off. Later Roxy’s team is aware of Zenith’s location and plans to find her. Elinalise states if Roxy isn’t going to meet Rudeus. Roxy replies Rudeus might be depressed now, but he’ll get back up somehow.
Rudeus sulking in bed recalls his previous life and how he could not do something back then. Even though he knew people were trying to help him, he didn’t want to reach out to them. Later, he realizes it’s late to change and start over.
As Rudeus dozes off, he dreams of the time with the Greyrat family. Seeing his mother exhausted, Rudeus tells her to rest while he cleans up before supper. Zenith finds Rudeus’s gesture kind and tells him that she loves him.
The words wake Rudeus up, and he realizes he’s got to find Zenith. He then sets out on a journey. In the end, Sylphie is seen recommending Rudeus to the Ranoa Magic Academy members. She states picking Rudeus is because she respects him the most.
