In episode 16, titled “Family squabble,” Rudeus and his party reached Milishion and planned what to do there. Rudeus encountered his father while trying to stop a kidnapping.
Rudeus understood from Paul that everyone in their village got teleported and is now missing. Paul mentioned he put a notice in Zant port but understands Rudeus was busy goofing around.
Eris and Ruijerd found that Rudeus met his dad and is in a bad state. Eris comforted Rudeus on the situation, and Rudeus got some relief.

Episode 17 Discussion
Rudeus has now come to understand the events of his village after meeting his dad. He realizes he didn’t think about the situation after the disaster and faces his next issue in the journey.
Paul was looking forward to Rudeus telling him how he was looking for the missing people but ended up disappointed. How will Rudeus deal with Paul in this situation? Will Paul accept Rudeus help if he offers it?
The next episode will show if Paul and Rudeus sort things up and find other issues while settling things. We’ll have to wait and see how the series unfolds as the episodes get released for the anime.

Episode 16 Recap
This episode starts with Rudeus and his party traveling to Milishion. While they reach the border, Geese parts way with the party and reminds them to check the adventures guild. Later after settling in a room, Rudeus holds the party’s meeting and mentions the plans ahead.
Rudeus says that it’s a day off tomorrow as he needs to write a letter to his family and make more Ruijerd statues. The next day while writing the letter, Rudeus spots a kidnapping. He then gears up to do what ‘Dead End’ is meant to do.
Rudeus follows the kidnappers and plans to save the kid, but he gets caught due to his distraction. Trying to save the kid, Rudeus faces two good fighters, and later the leader appears. Rudeus finds the leader very familiar with the way he fights and looks.
After the leader cuts Rudeus’ face disguise, the man recognizes him and calls him ‘Rudy.’ Rudeus realizes who the leader is and finds out it’s his father, Paul. Later they catch up, and Rudeus talks about what has happened since the teleportation disaster.
Paul then questions Rudeus why didn’t he find out more about what happened in the disaster instead of goofing on an adventure. Rudeus realizes it didn’t cross his mind to find more on the disaster, starting an argument between Paul and Rudeus.
Getting into a fight, Paul mentions that he left a message in Zant port about the disaster and says that everyone in Buena village got caught in the disaster. Rudeus finds out his mother and a few siblings are still missing and understands why Paul formed a search party.
He states that the people who teleported were tricked or forced to be slaves, and the search party was rescuing them. With understanding the situation, Rudeus gets a familiar feeling from his previous life and leaves.
Later Rudeus thinks that he and Paul can sort things out and figure out what to do next. Eris and Ruijerd returning find Rudeus emotional, and they understand he met his dad. Eris tries to go and sort things out with Paul, but Ruijerd says if you want to sort it, start with comforting Rudeus.
Even though not sure how to comfort Rudeus, Eris holds him and lets him know it’s alright, but Rudeus feels some relief and thanks her.
