The MSI MAG Tomahawk motherboard comes with Intel’s 700 series B760 chipset. It is equipped with dual 8-pin power connectors, and is said to be a mid-range mainboard.
The first look at the MSI MAG Tomahawk motherboard became available after pictures of the B760-equipped model leaked online.
MSI’s B760 Tomahawk motherboard features a standard ATX form factor design, with dual PCIe x16 slots (possibly Gen4). Three M.2 PCIe slots are squeezed under the shields.
The VRM section of the Tomahawk motherboard is not too different from the B660 model, so it should still have the 12+1+1 power stage layout. The packaging mentions “Lighting Gen5,” so at least one M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen5.
The B760 Tomahawk also supports DDR4 memory up to 5333 MT/s(overclocked) in 1 DIMM Per Channel mode(single rank). Its DDR5 and DDR4 variants are set to launch along with Intel 13th Gen Core non-K series in early 2023.
There’s not much difference between the BB60 version and the B760 version, so if you’re looking to buy one, you should consider the MSI B760 MAG Tomahawk which is priced at around $190.
