Ms. Marvel Star Suggests a Spider-Man Style Arc for Season 2

Ms. Marvel premiered on Disney+ on June 8, 2022, concluding with Kamala Khan finally embracing her superhero status and powers.

There are still some dangling plot threads left to be picked up in future MCU projects and possibly in another season of the television series.

Just over a year from now, Ms. Marvel will play a larger role in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel, titled The Marvels.

As of now, it is not known if Ms. Marvel will remain a miniseries like WandaVision or return for a second season like Loki and What If…?.

In spite of Kamala being a relatively new comic character, there are still plenty of stories left to be told about her. It goes without saying that many people are already wondering what’s next for Kamala Khan and her supporting cast after The Marvels.

In an interview with StyleCaster, the series star Iman Vellani revealed the potential storyline she would want to see Kamala undergo if the series returns for Season 2.

Having fought alongside her hero Captain Marvel, she wants her to return to her simple street-bound adventures in her neighborhood in New Jersey.

Her idea was to give her character a similar experience to Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Homecoming, when he had to return to his school days after fighting alongside the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War.

“It would be fun to see Kamala post-The Marvels after she’s fought with her idol. It’s similar to what Spider-Man went through after fighting with the Avengers in Civil War and going back to the friendly neighborhood thing.”

While there is no word on whether Ms. Marvel will return for a second season yet, it is possible that Marvel is saving the announcement for San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

She might also appear in more films, including her own solo film, or form Young Avengers with the other young heroes in the MCU.

After the reveal at the end of Season 1, it seems that big things are to come for not just the character, but the entire MCU.

With each MCU project, the storylines tend to get bigger in scale, so having more Earth-bound adventures would be a nice change of pace.

Spider-Man: Homecoming was followed by adventures that were bigger in scope, with Peter Parker visiting space in Avengers: Infinity War, taking a European vacation in Spider-Man: Far From Home, and then getting entangled in a multiversal adventure in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Currently, there is no information about when or what type of story future Spider-Man movies will tell.

However, Ms. Marvel can be an opportunity for Marvel Studios to tell the classic teenage superhero stories that are commonly associated with both heroes.
