Neil feels conflicted about how to navigate certain situations as a single father. Orly has an idealistic image of her mother because of the videos she left for her before she passed away. The two of them finally have a heart to heart and Neil confesses it was her mother that wanted Orly to be as sheltered as possible.
With Jayden’s help, the two of them simulate a fake argument using dialogues from an old movie Orly’s mother was in. Meanwhile, Arpi is afraid she might have lost her spark. How will she gain it back?

Neil is thrilled to know that Orly got accepted into the Youth Leadership program at City Hall and will be interning for him for the next couple of days. She didn’t tell him at the time of the application because she didn’t want him to interfere. She reminds Neil that she doesn’t want any special treatment.
Tommy checks in on Mikaela because she’d been hiding out in her office ever since James rejected her. When the interns are introduced to the office, Orly realizes that her father got her into the program, as the rest of the interns were far more accomplished. Orly is furious and confronts Neil. Neil tells her she’s free to quit but Orly insists on working hard and earning her place.
Meanwhile, Arpi meets with a council member to speak about the broadband bill. The council member is initially against investing in education but Arpi brings in the interns, forcing him to extend his support to the bill. The interns pick up on the fact that Arpi was simply using them to win support and agree to help in any way they can. Arpi wins the support of several council members but the kids are disappointed to learn that the bill won’t actually come into effect for the next couple of years.
