Mr. Mayor Season 2 Episode 5 Recap
The Mayor’s office is all geared up for the upcoming ‘Sister Cities’ meeting. Mikaela talks to Jayden about James flirting with her and the news slowly spreads through the office. Arpi encourages her to make the first move and ask James out. Things get confusing when a movie about senators is being filmed right next door to the event venue.
The actors in the movie stumble across the venue when they break for lunch during filming and everyone mistakes them for the mayors that were meant to attend the event. Tommy realizes that there’s been a mix-up when Jayden calls him to inform him about the delay in picking up the mayors. Meanwhile, Arpi and Mikaela head on to HR to confirm if Mikaela can get one more chance at asking out James as she was interrupted the first time and HR policy dictates that you are only allowed to ask out a coworker once before it counts as harassment.
Tommy asks Orly to help him stall until the real Mayors get to the event. Their plan doesn’t work and Jayden ends up getting even more delayed. When Neil starts to doubt his own negotiation abilities, Tommy finally comes clean about the blunder.
