In last week’s episode, Neil realizes that he needs the public to recognize him as Mayor. He brainstorms ideas with his team and James comes up with a pilot program to install trash cans with the Mayor’s face on them. Meanwhile, Mikaela and Tommy help Jayden deal with his housing crisis. They are able to find him an apartment, but the landlord has an odd condition. While Jayden is able to build a facade to get the lease, it becomes increasingly difficult for him to keep lying. Tommy and Mikaela come to his rescue.

Mr. Mayor Season 2 Episode 4 Recap
After seeing a street interview segment on the local news, Neil realizes that no one in the city seems to know who he is. It doesn’t help that Jayden, one of his employees, blanks when the interviewer asks what the city’s Mayor’s name is. He decides to brainstorm ideas to get his “face out there.” Arpi seems to find the whole idea ridiculous and vain.
Mikaela shows Jayden some security footage of him sleepwalking and causing a ruckus in the office. They express concern as to why Jayden had been sleeping in their place of work in the first place. Turns out that Jayden was facing a housing crisis and so, his coworkers decide to help him look for an apartment. Meanwhile, James suggests that Neil place trash cans around the city with his face on them to get people to remember him.
The pilot program is launched and trash cans with Neil’s face are placed around City Hall. Neil admits to Arpi that he hates the trash can initiative but can’t say anything because of how much traction it got. The two try to “nudge” James into doing away with the initiative but it doesn’t seem to work. Mikaela and Tommy help Jayden deal with his unhinged landlord and even get his rent reduced.
