The beta version of Mortal Kombat 1 features online versus multiplayer mode and the Tower mode. Players can choose out of the six playable characters available– Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Kitana, Li Mei, Liu Kang, and Sub-Zero. The Kameo Fighters roster is even smaller, featuring only Frost, Jax, Kano, and Sonya.

The pre-order beta also has only two stages to choose from. However, the final game will feature several fighters, characters, and stages. The beta is just a scaled-down version of the original game.

The pre-order beta has players applauding Johnny Cage’s epic combos and sunglass finishers. The classic fan-favorite is turning out to be a popular choice among players. Many are enjoying their time experimenting with Johnny ever since the beta went live.

About Mortal Kombat 1

Developer NetherRealm Studios has officially revealed Mortal Kombat 1, the next chapter in its long-running fighting game series, which was released on September 19th. It takes on that name, rather than the expected Mortal Kombat 12 name, because–as previous teasers hinted at–Mortal Kombat 1 is a sort-of-reboot of the series and takes place in the New Era timeline established by Liu Kang after he ascended to godhood in 2019’s Mortal Kombat 11.
