Moriarty the Patriot episode 23, titled “The Final Problem Act 1,” has been released this week. 

Milverton arrived at Sherlock’s place, stating that he had evidence that could imprison Mary. In response, Sherlock broke into Milverton’s house to destroy the evidence. He ended up murdering him in the process.

In episode 23, Mycroft helped bail Sherlock out of prison. While, William publicly revealed himself as the Lord of Crime. So, Sherlock decided to save William before he could be killed as he considered him an essential piece in making the country a better place.

1. Episode 24 Speculations and Discussions

The title of episode 24, “The Final Problem Act 2,” is revealed at the end of episode 23. 

We can pretty much gauge that the next episode is going to be pretty mind-blowing since there is no preview at the end of the episode to prevent spoilers. 

Now that William and Sherlock have joined hands with each other, it’s a whole other ballgame. No one in the country will be able to gain the upper hand against them.

Sherlock made a promise to Louis and Fred that he will save William, so best believe that he will save him one way or the other. 

As we already know that Sherlock does not mind committing murder when necessary. Therefore, I think the only way he could pull this off is by substituting William’s death with some other criminal. In this way, the overall result will be a win-win.

3. Recap of Episode 23

Episode 23, titled “The Final Problem Act 1,” starts off with William telling his brothers that he will have to kill himself for his plan to be executed perfectly.

Louis does not agree with his plan. However, William’s decision is absolute and cannot be revoked. William then starts setting up the Final Problem of his plan. 

Mycroft comes to Sherlock’s aid and bails him out of prison. He tells Sherlock that since Milverton’s body fell into the sea, there is no confirmation of homicide, which is why he is not held liable for anything.  

Watson is enraged that Sherlock turned into a killer to make sure he could get married to the woman he loves. However, Sherlock is unable to understand his emotions. 

William freely confesses to being the Lord of Crime and starts killing aristocrats randomly. His friends realize that William intends on dying, considering his death being an atonement for his sins. 

William kills an aristocrat before his kids, making it very evident that William is trying to get caught red-handed. Holmes investigates William’s past and realizes that he and his siblings are together the Lord of Crime. 

Sherlock apologizes to Watson before going to a mysterious gathering with the Queen. Sherlock is sure the eventual fate of the nation relies upon him and William. 

Fred plans with Louis to keep William alive regardless of whether it ruins the Final Problem. Fred and Louis meet Sherlock and request that he spare William. 

The episode ends with Sherlock telling them that he anyway planned to save William as he considers him to be a companion. William later shows up in Sherlock’s home and requests that he help carry their story to its appropriate end.

Moriarty the Patriot is a mystery Shonen manga written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi from August 2016. The series has published ten compiled volumes and inspired an anime that released in October 2020.

The story is set in Britain’s Golden age in the 19th century. It Focuses on William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty household, a young mathematics professor. He lives the simple life of a noble along with his brothers Albert and Louis.

But outside school, William is a well-known criminal consultant prepared to wreak havoc in pursuit of his desire “a new world built from the ashes of the old.”
