Moriarty the Patriot episode 21, titled “The Sign of Mary,” has been released this week. 

In the last episode, we saw Whitely use the blackmail material against the Lords to pass his form on equality. After his brother was murdered, Whitely sought revenge and killed the culprit. The Lord Of Crime killed Whitely before the public could tarnish his name. 

In episode 21, Sherlock is introduced to Mary, Watson’s fiance. She asked him to investigate some suspicious events that keep happening to her.

1. Episode 22 Speculations and Discussions

The title of episode 22, “The Two Criminals,” is revealed at the end of episode 21. 

From the preview at the end of episode 21, we shall see Sherlock and Moriarty cross paths with each other and have a showdown.

We shall also see Sherlock and Moriarty team up and go after Milverton, who is causing a lot of problems in their personal lives. 

We can also expect to see Mary betray Watson and Sherlock under the command of someone threatening her life.

3. Recap of Episode 21

Episode 21, titled “The Sign of Mary, starts off with Sherlock being aware of the news that The Lord of Crime murdered Whitely.

Watson acquaints Holmes with his fiance Mary Morstan. Sherlock is surprised to discover this development in Watson’s life. 

However, Mary has some requests and proceeds to tell Sherlock. She asks him to examine the disappearance of her dad, Arthur. She also asks him to investigate the passing of his companion Major Sholto. 

Mary also conveys to Sherlock that somebody continues to send her significant pearls and would like to know the person’s identity and their reason. 

Sherlock presumes Mary is concealing something. Visiting Sholto’s home, Sherlock discovers Sholto’s child Bartholomew dead. 

Bartholomew’s twin, Thaddeus, uncovers Sholto admitted on his deathbed that he executed Arthur after taking the Treasure of Agra in India. 

Sholto made them promise to give Mary the fortune, yet they couldn’t discover it, so they started sending her pearls as compensation. 

They, in the end, find the fortune and the names Jonathon Small and Abdullah Tonga. Sherlock concludes that Small and Tonga helped take the fortune yet were cheated of their offer and executed Bartholomew to get it. 

Sherlock tracks them on a boat. Watson shoots tonga, and Small dumps the fortune in the waterway instead of giving it up, eliminating any danger to Mary’s life. 

Regardless, Mary is crushed by the fortune’s loss, so Sherlock concludes Mary is being coerced. 

The episode ends with Mary admitting that somebody is threatening her wedding to Watson unless she gives over the fortune, and Sherlock reasons that Milverton is the guilty party.

Moriarty the Patriot is a mystery Shonen manga written by Ryōsuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi from August 2016. The series has published ten compiled volumes and inspired an anime that released in October 2020.

The story is set in Britain’s Golden age in the 19th century. It Focuses on William James Moriarty, the second son of the Moriarty household, a young mathematics professor. He lives the simple life of a noble along with his brothers Albert and Louis.

But outside school, William is a well-known criminal consultant prepared to wreak havoc in pursuit of his desire “a new world built from the ashes of the old.”
