Daniel Espinosa revealed in a Twitter Q&A with CinemaBlend that Morbius will have a version of Spider-Man.
The upcoming movie starring Jared Leto, Morbius, will also occur in the same universe as Venom.
Venom’s appearance in the Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scene had almost everyone confused (and also excited). It looks like Morbius will finally have some answers.
Espinosa shared a significant spoiler by revealing that there is a version of Spider-Man in the upcoming movie. Although he kept mum about who from the trio it could be—Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or Tom Holland—fans can let their imagination run wild.
Espinosa also shared that Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming will also feature in Morbius.
The director let loose a majority of Sony Universe with the exciting spoilers. Another spoiler includes him confirming that Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Homecoming, and No Way Home established multiverse travel and, in a way, transferred “Venom and Culture (and maybe others)” between MCU and Venom’s Universe.
The Morbius trailers also hinted at a Spider-Man graffiti, but a confirmation from the director opens a new gate of theories.
The web-slinger could be any of the three Spider-Man or could be a whole new person. The addition of a new Spider-Man may sound highly unlikely, but it’s not impossible since the multiverse opened up.
Some do believe Venomverse’s Spider-Man could be Andrew Garfield. Since Tick, Tick… Boom! and No Way Home feature, fans have rallied to Marvel to let Garfield play the friendly neighborhood superhero. However, he is adamant about never donning the Spandex suit again.
It seems like Espinosa tried his best to raise anticipation for Morbius; however, it has backfired. Comments under CinemaBlend’s tweets have fans thanking him for saving their money for a trip to the theater with major Sonyverse spoilers.
Only time will tell how Jared Leto’s Morbius would perform in the theaters when it premieres on April 1.
