Monarch to Get a Sinister Makeover for ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’

Godzilla vs. Kong, which comes out next month, has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Now, it seems like there’s more to look forward to, as it’s been revealed that the upcoming film will introduce a notorious version of Monarch.

Hailed as “a megalithic organization doing some bad stuff”, they are claimed to be playing an important role in harming Godzilla. As Collider, who recently took a tour of the movie’s set, reported, Apex also has a more polished look compared to Monarch’s government agency-like appearance. Furthermore, the film will also focus on Madison, Josh, and Bernie trying to take down the infamous group.

Monarch, which has been likened to the MCU’s S.H.I.E.L.D., works to track Titans’ presence and defend humans from their attacks. Previous movies in the franchise have tried to portray both the organization’s pros and cons, but pitting them against a contender will give fans something new to look forward to.

However, not much is known about Apex as of yet. But some sharp-eyed fans have caught its presence in the first trailer. Other than Bernie, who used to work with them at one point, no other members’ identity has been revealed. 

Clearly, the studio wants to keep details about the newcomer under wraps, which could hint at exciting reveals. One thing’s for sure, the organization definitely has some suspicious motives, and the wait to find out what they are is getting slimmer day-by-day!

Surpassing the production of its prequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Legendary’s upcoming venture is promised to be its greatest one yet. The movie will clash two of its biggest and baddest monsters against each other, Godzilla and Kong. While Kong goes on a journey to find his real home, an infuriated Godzilla grazes through the globe, causing destruction, ultimately meeting in battle, which will decide its winner.
