Apple’s entry into the Monsterverse has been fairly successful, but last week’s episode was bleak at best.
“Will the Real May Please Stand Up?” is easily the most monotonous entry so far, but will the show return to its former glory next week? Without further ado, let’s get Sherlocking!
1. Episode 8 Synopsis/Speculation
The search for Lee Shaw will continue in next week’s episode, with Cate and her loyal followers trying their best to track the old man down.
After stealing all of Monarch’s explosives, the Colonel has just destroyed an alien rift. Surely, he’ll not be too difficult to track down, will he?
Meanwhile, Cate will try to use Monarch’s agenda to propel her mission to find Hiroshi Randa. The gang will probably try to track Lee at one of the Titan sites, and Hiroshi will surely not be far behind. Seeing Cate’s multifaceted talents, Verdugo might offer her a position within the ranks of Monarch.
Hopefully, the series will also explore the drama unfolding in the fifties. The flavor of Monarch’s initial days mixed with the developing love triangle between Lee, Bill, and Keiko will be interesting to watch for sure.
We know Bill and Keiko end up together, and Keiko gets murdered later. How did that unfold? There is a lot of scope for development along this crevasse.

Meanwhile, Lee Shaw has already become rogue and takes over a Monarch base with Duvall’s assistance. They steal all the explosives, and Lee sets them off in the Alaskan Rift, causing the vortex to implode.
Meanwhile, the trio sneaks into the AET to rescue May. AET’s boss, Brenda Holland, offers May the position of a spy, but she refuses the offer.
Finally, Verdugo captures Cate, May, and Tim. Together, they plan to hunt down Lee Shaw.
