Modern Love came out almost two years ago, and the mini-series got through to us so many different ways. An anthology of 8 little stories explored different aspects of people, their vulnerabilities, their fear, and how they see love. It wasn’t just another fairy tale that romanticized the idea of love but gave us something more profound and real.

Last week Amazon Prime dropped the official trailer for Modern Love Season 2, and it promises to be as profound, introspective, and warm as the first season. We are introduced to all characters across episodes, starting with our beloved Kit Harrington, and also get a tiny glimpse of what their story could be about.
The visuals are stunning as they capture palpable human emotions that bring together stories of characters from various walks of life. We see doubt, grief, that nervousness when you ask someone out, the passion when you kiss someone for the first time, and of course, how love means different things to different characters.
The background score elevates every frame. It’s vibrant yet a little mellow! It’s joyful yet a little melancholic. In essence, it captures all shades that come together when you talk about this abstract concept called – Love!
Plot
Modern Love season 2 is an anthology of 8 new stories of new people. It tells tales of the old, the young, how they discover and rediscover who they are, what they want, and eventually, what love means to them.
The official plot synopsis reads, “Love breaks all the rules. This anthology series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms. Each episode brings to life a different story that has been inspired by the New York Times‘ popular Modern Love column. A collection of stories about relationships, connections, betrayals, and revelations.”

The show has quite a few new faces such as Kit Harrington, whom we know as Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Susan Blackwell, Lucy Boynton, Tom Burke, Zoe Chao, Maria Dizzia, Minnie Driver, Kathryn Gallagher, Nikki M. James, Aparna Nancherla, Anna Paquin, Isaac Powell, Jack Reynor, among others.
Just like last time, the characters span across diverse backgrounds, ages and each of them has their own journey and story to tell. Right from a teenager trying to understand and come to terms with her sexuality to a divorced couple who find love years later, season 2 tells various stories that depict a slice of life.
