The first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury was filled with action-packed moments, interesting new characters, and, so far, an entertaining plot.
Suletta is pretty brave despite being so nervous throughout the episode. It’s clear she shouldn’t be underestimated, looking at how she beat Guel Jetkurk and won Miorine’s hand. Here are the latest updates.
Episode 2 Speculation
Episode 2 will be titled ‘The Cursed Mobile Suit’. In the next episode, I’m expecting to see more of the academy, as well as Miorine and Suletta getting to know each other better.
There was also Mr. Jetkurk attempting to assassinate Miorine’s father, so in the next episode, I’m anticipating we’ll get to see what became of that plan and how he deals with him being suspended from the company as well as his son’s loss of the duel.

Episode 1 Recap
We see Suletta arriving at the Asticassia school of technology. When she sees someone floating in space, and goes to rescue them herself despite the rescue team’s protests.
The person she escaped was trying to “escape” and is upset with her for rescuing her.
Suletta meets Nika Nanaura, a second-year mechanics student. She meets more students who ask her if it’s true that she’s from mercury, and we also learn that Suletta is a piloting student, who’s come here on the instructions of her mother, who wants to make their planet, mercury, more prosperous.
She meets Miorine Rembran, the girl she rescued, and takes responsibility for what happened and tells her she’ll help her escape to earth.
A red mobile suit, which is speculated to be Guel Jeturk, has an official duel against Miorine’s fiance and wins, and tells Miorine he’ll take her as his bride. Miorine tells Suletta that duels are how they settle important disputes in the academy, and that’s how her father designed it.
The Benerit group suspends three companies they don’t need, Mr. Jeterk’s (Guel’s father) included. He plots to assassinate him. Miorine is on watch by two of their agents.
Guel arrives and tells her she’ll be living with him at Jeturk house. He wrecks her house after she disagrees. Suletta hits him but backs away in fear, and he tells her he’s the heir to one of the three branches of the Benerit group.
Suletta asks him to apologize, but he tells her to duel with him because she thinks he’s wrong: if she loses, she’ll leave the school.
Miorine duels him instead of Suletta, because she’s tired of people making decisions of her. As she’s beginning to lose, Suletta charges in mid-fight and tells her to give her mobile suit back to her and let her fight. She wins against him in an easy victory.
Jetkurk learns that his son lost and that he won’t be the fiancé of Miorine. Miorine gives Suletta the uniform of victory, the emblem of the Holder(also Guel’s emblem). She tells him that she’s now her groom.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (Kidō Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) is an upcoming mecha anime series and the fifteenth mainline entry in Sunrise’s long-running Gundam franchise, succeeding Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. It will premiere in October 2022.
The story follows Suletta Mercury who has transfered to the Asticassia School of Technology from the planet Mercury. She dreams of becoming a Gundam pilot and navigates her way through this new world.
