The March issue of Kadokawa’s Gundam Ace magazine announced that Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, the first new Gundam television anime series in seven years, is set to get a side story manga that will start serialization in the magazine in spring.
The story is written by Kō Yoneyama, with illustrations by Chika Tojo. HISADAKE will be in charge of planning cooperation, and mogmo is credited for the original character designs.
The manga’s plot is set several years after the Vanadis incident. The story follows a witch named Vilda Miren, who is a survivor and travels around the earth with a “curse.”
The anime also has a novel adaptation which started serialization in Gundam Acein November.
The show is the first main Gundam television anime with a female lead. The anime premiered in Japan on October 2 on MBS and TBS.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (Kidō Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) is an upcoming mecha anime series and the fifteenth mainline entry in Sunrise’s long-running Gundam franchise, succeeding Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. It will premiere in October 2022.
The story follows Suletta Mercury who has transfered to the Asticassia School of Technology from the planet Mercury. She dreams of becoming a Gundam pilot and navigates her way through this new world.
