Mob Psycho 100 revolves around espers – humans who possess varying degrees of psychic energy that they can channel and harness for different purposes.
There are two kinds of espers in Mob Psycho 100: natural ones, like Mob, and awakened ones, like Ritsu. Natural-born espers are stronger than awoken ones, especially artificially awoken ones like the Lab Kids.
In today’s article, I’m going to give you a list of the top 10 strongest espers in Mob Psycho.
Note: However much I want to add him, this list does not contain Reigan Arataka.
Esper | Raw Psychic Power | Max Output Power | Number of Psychic Abilities | Strength of Psychic Abilities | Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | Skill in Battle | Total |
Mob | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 9 | 59 |
Toichiro | 9 | 9 | 10 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 57 |
Mogami | 8 | 9 | 9 | 10 | 10 | 10 | 56 |
Serizawa | 9 | 9 | 8 | 9 | 8 | 9 | 52 |
Shimazaki | 7 | 9 | 8 | 9 | 9 | 9 | 51 |
Hanazawa | 8 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 9 | 49 |
Suzuki | 8 | 7 | 7 | 8 | 8 | 8 | 46 |
Ishiguro | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 7 | 8 | 45 |
Minegishi | 6 | 6 | 6 | 6 | 9 | 9 | 42 |
Ritsu | 7 | 9 | 6 | 7 | 6 | 6 | 41 |
10 Ritsu Kageyama
Raw Psychic Power | 7 |
Max Output Power | 9 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 6 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 7 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 6 |
Skill in Battle | 6 |
Total | 41 |
Ritsu Kageyama is the protagonist Mob’s younger brother. He awakened his psychic powers much after Shigeo.
A lot of people think Ritsu is really strong just because he’s Mob’s brother, but it’s the opposite. Ritsu is much weaker than other espers in the series, but this might just be because he’s only just getting the hang of his power.
Ritsu at 100% was able to stand up even to Mob at ???%. If he learns how to harness this power like Mob, he’ll soon make it to the top 5.
9 Toshiki Minegishi
Raw Psychic Power | 6 |
Max Output Power | 6 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 6 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 6 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Skill in Battle | 9 |
Total | 42 |
Minegishi was introduced as one of the strongest espers belonging to Claw, being a member of its Ultimate or Super 5.
His main psychic power is Chlorokinesis, which means he can create and control all kinds of flora. This power is great for offense, defense, and restraint. He was able to take down 3 stronger former Claw members with ease.
8 Ishiguro
Raw Psychic Power | 6 |
Max Output Power | 7 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 7 |
Skill in Battle | 8 |
Total | 45 |
Ishiguro, the leader of the Claw 7th Division, is highly underrated. He was part of the upper echelon of Claw called Scar, and is technically supposed to be weaker than the Ultimate 5, but in my opinion, he’s as strong or even stronger than most of them.
Ishiguro can manipulate gravity and create mini black holes. He also has other cool psychic techniques like 500kg Tackle, One Ton Punch, and Two Ton Guillotine, able to fight with 1000% Gratitude Reigan.
I think Ishiguro’s drawback is his raw psychic energy; if he had more of it, he could boost his skills to join the Super 5.
7 Sho Suzuki
Raw Psychic Power | 8 |
Max Output Power | 7 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 7 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Skill in Battle | 8 |
Total | 46 |
Sho Suzuki is the son of Toichiro Suzuki, the leader of Claw. He was strong enough to take down the gravity manipulating Ishiguro but was outmatched by the Super 5.
Sho manipulates light to make himself invisible and uses it to negate Ishiguro’s Black Orbs.
Sho is strong, but not as strong as some people seem to think.
6 Teruki Hanazawa
Raw Psychic Power | 8 |
Max Output Power | 8 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Skill in Battle | 9 |
Total | 49 |
Teruki Hanazawa, or Teru, for short, was introduced as an antagonist but later became one of Mob’s best friends – and rival.
Teru is immensely gifted with psychic power. But what makes him so strong is the fact that he is always learning.
He quickly copies techniques and adapts them to fit his combat style. He learned the Air Whip from Terada and Pyrokinesis from Miyagawa after seeing them in action just once.
He also learned Telekinetic Explosion from a Claw agent who attacked his home and later used it in battle.
He can also use multiple techniques simultaneously as seen in chapter 78 of the manga.
5 Ryo Shimazaki
Raw Psychic Power | 7 |
Max Output Power | 9 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Skill in Battle | 9 |
Total | 51 |
Ryo Shimazaki, one of the top two espers in the now defunct Claw, is number #5 on my list. Toichiro mentions that Serizawa is more powerful than Shimazaki, and I agree, but Shimazaki’s psychic abilities, if honed a little more, can defeat even him.
Mind’s Eye is Shimazaki’s most powerful ability. He can sharpen his psychic senses and “see” all the objects, people, and auras in the vicinity. He can also sense their most vulnerable spots and attack them there.
Shimazaki is also unnaturally fast – he can teleport at will, and can also take objects and people with him.
4 Katsuya Serizawa
Raw Psychic Power | 9 |
Max Output Power | 9 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 8 |
Skill in Battle | 9 |
Total | 52 |
According to his former boss, Toichiro, Serizawa is second in power only to him. He blocks an attack from Toichiro at 3% of his output and also puts up a good fight against Mob.
Using his umbrella to channel his power, Serizawa’s Psychokinesis was strong enough to bludgeon his enemies during the second season.
He doesn’t need his umbrella to control his power anymore, which means he’s learned to direct and hone his energy much more efficiently since then.
3 Keiji Mogami
Raw Psychic Power | 8 |
Max Output Power | 9 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Skill in Battle | 10 |
Total | 56 |
Before you say Mogami is an evil spirit and not an esper – he was actually known as the Greatest Psychic of the 20th Century before he died.
Since we don’t know exactly how powerful he was in his time, we can only speculate after witnessing his rampage during the Keiji Mogami arc.
His coolest psychic ability is Mental Mindscape, where he creates a fully detailed mental world that manages to trap and fool even Shigeo.
Mogami can suck the life force out of espers and even absorb evil spirits. In his lifetime, he absorbed several evil spirits, so much so that he became on himself after he died.
At his strongest he could defeat Mob at 100% Courage, which is his strongest form below ???%. This should tell you that Mogami is a terrifying force to reckon with.
2 Toichiro Suzuki
Raw Psychic Power | 9 |
Max Output Power | 10 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 9 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Skill in Battle | 10 |
Total | 58 |
Toichiri Suzuki is the former leader of the disbanded villainous organization, Claw. Having traveled the world, he has encountered several espers and learned various psychic techniques.
He is the only espers apart from Mob who is capable of absorbing and transfering psychic energy. He can store huge amounts of psychic power, and had been continuously doing so for 20 years.
In the World Domination arc, it is Toichiro’s own power that consumes him. This is what gives birth to the Divine Tree.
Mob himself stated that even at 100% he was of no match to Toichiro.
1 Shigeo Kageyama aka Mob
Raw Psychic Power | 10 |
Max Output Power | 10 |
Number of Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Strength of Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Proficiency in Psychic Abilities | 10 |
Skill in Battle | 9 |
Total | 59 |
Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama is the number one esper in Mob Psycho 100. His unidentifiable “???%” state gives his subconscious a boundless amount of psychic energy and power to manipulate. In this state, Mob affects the fabric of the world – human and spirit – becoming invincible.
Even at Mob’s 100% explosions, no other opponent except Mogami and Toichiro can even bare to be around him.
He can perform mass exorcisms, powerful telekinesis, energy and matter absorption, chlorokinesis, and several other psychic techniques pretty easily.
Mob’s natural psychic energy trumps that of all others, making him not just the strongest esper, but the strongest character in the series, period.
