The cliffhanger at the end is quite frustrating as I really want to know how Tsubomi will react to Mob’s proposal. The accident might cause some misunderstanding between Mob and Tsubomi.

However, looking at the preview, something completely different is happening, as Mob looks furious for some reason. Maybe the anxiety and frustration have piled up and caused a burst in his power. They should better call Reigen.

Episode 9 Recap

Mob has a dream about the time when he and Tsubomi were small and used to play together. In school, the teacher announces that Tsubomi will leave school next month.

Mob is left in shock as he was going to propose to her after the entrance exam session. However, he is not the only one who hasn’t asked her out. Mob asks the body improvement club, followed by the brainwave club, for some advice on how to propose to her, but none have anything solid to give him.

At the back of the school, boys stand in a long queue to tell Tsubomi about their feelings, only to be rejected by her. Mob is standing outside her class when Mezato shows up, telling him about the present scenario.

Mob asks Mezato about the type of boys girls like. She tells him all that needs to be told and then asks him what he really likes about her. Mob takes this question and goes to the ultimate guy, Reigen.

They talk about his feeling, and Reigen gives him some advice (from the net). He tells Mob just to be polite and tell her what he wants to say with a smile on his face.

Mob meets Hanazawa, who tells him to take some gifts with him when he asks her out. At home, Ritsu comes up and asks Mob about Tsubomi. He remembers when Tsubomi came to Reigen’s office and told him she liked someone from a different school.

Mob hesitantly calls Tsubomi’s house number and talks to her. They decide to meet at the park where they used to play after school. The next day, Mob is surprised that he is extremely calm about meeting Tsubomi and doesn’t hide his feelings anymore.

He buys flowers after school, and Toshiki offers him a much bigger bouquet than he bought. While waiting at the crossing, he saves a cat who is about to get run over by a car.

When the signal turns green, he and a small kid start crossing the road. A careless driver is about to run over the child. Since Mob’s hands are full, he cannot use his powers and instead jumps in front of the car and gets hit.
