Mixed Energy Residue Farming Guide in The First Descendant

Mixed Energy Residue is a very important item that almost every player needs if they want to power up their descendants and unlock new strong weapons.

It is a basic material used for crafting Crystallization Catalysts. Even though it sounds basic, farming for it can be annoying and time-consuming as they are very hard to find.

1. How to Get Mixed Energy Residue in The First Descendant?

Mixed Energy Residue can be obtained by opening Encrypted Storage Boxes and Encrypted Vaults in The First Descendant‘s Agna Desert area. Each Encrypted Storage Vault has different tiers that require Code Analyzers of the specific tier you want to unlock.

2. Where to Find the Encrypted Vaults?

The Encrypted Vaults’ can be found only in Agna Desert but they spawn randomly; however, you can manipulate them and farm them efficiently and faster.

Follow these steps to find Encrypted Vaults easily:

Step 1– Ensure the quick travel location is unlocked, as shown in the below image.

Step 2- Scan the area by pressing the TAB button. When you hear a pinging sound, it means an Encrypted Vault is nearby. If there’s no sound, it means the Vault hasn’t respawned yet. Remember, a low-pitched sound means you’re facing the wrong direction, while a high-pitched sound means you’re heading the right way.

Step 3– After finding the Vaults and obtaining Mixed Energy Residue, teleport to the other location and repeat Step 2. These Vaults take upto a minute to spawn. By then, you can check out the other location and return to the previous spot.

3. How to Obtain Mixed Energy Residue from Encrypted Vaults?

To open Encrypted Vaults, you’ll need Code Analyzers. These come in three different tiers, each corresponding to a specific type of vault.

After unlocking the vault, a mini-game will open. To clear the game, you must left-click your mouse when the red dial is in the highlighted area. While doing this, a timer will appear. If you make a mistake, the time will deplete faster.

When the timer is over, the mini-game will fail, and the Codes will be lost. After completing the mini-game, you will be rewarded with the Mixed Energy Residue.

Note: Ensure you are precise while doing this because the difficulty increases with the tier, which can be annoying sometimes.

Descendant Enzo makes this easier by reducing the speed of the dial and broadening the highlighted area.

4. How to Use Mixed Energy Residues?

Mixed Energy Residues are used for crafting Crystallization Catalysts. These are essential for building weapons and upgrading Descendant modules in the endgame. When using the Crystallization Catalysts to enhance your Descendant module capacity, they will reset the level of your Descendant.

You’ll need 8 Mixed Energy Residues for each Crystallization Catalyst research. It’s highly recommended to farm more than 8, so you always have enough to craft Crystallization Catalysts. Keep in mind that each Catalyst takes 8 hours to research, and given the quantity needed, you’ll need a substantial amount.
