Sitting at 6.3 million views in less than 24 hours, the craze for the first official look of Mission: Impossible 7 is very real.
On March 23, Paramount Pictures officially released the trailer for Tom Cruise’s latest Mission Impossible movie, and it, rightfully so, has fans reeling in enthusiasm.
The trailer packs heavy punches—from a horse chase (a first in the franchise) to a train going off the rail and falling off a bridge—Mission: Impossible 7 aces the fans’ years-long wait with more action-packed scenes.
The cherry on top is Cruise’s highly-awaited stunt, launching off a cliff on a motorcycle, which he said was “the most dangerous thing” he had ever attempted.
The trailer promises the quintessential adrenaline rush of watching Cruise perform gravity and death-defying stunts, all while working for the greater good.
This time, Cruise’s Ethan Hunt will have bigger decisions to make. Henry Czerny’s Agent Eugene Kittridge also returns, marking a significant boss move for the ardent Mission Impossible fans.
Kittridge is the former director of IMF who was last seen in Mission Impossible 1.
Moreover, the Mission: Impossible 7 trailer quite literally takes viewers on a journey across the globe. With never a dull moment, the characters are sometimes in the desert, or underwater, or running from bad men on the city’s streets.
The excitement for Cruise’s latest MI installment—one which was prone to multiple, hard-hitting delays—is at an all-time high. Surely, the trailer leak did help the fans and the franchise in garnering plenty of buzz.
Whatever the installment brings viewers, they can expect an even bigger match in Mission: Impossible 8. Filming for the yet-untitled MI8 reportedly began last month, and leaked set images showed a vintage train.
Cruise even flew a World War II fighter jet for the movie. Knowing Cruise, it honestly doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch.
The cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Shea Whigham, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and more.
Mission: Impossible 7 will hit theaters on July 14, 2023.
