So far, Lucoa had expressed her feelings towards Shouta and explained her reasons for staying with him. Takiya did not want Fafnir to be around when his parents came to pay him a visit. Saikawa happened to see Elma in her dragon form. 

Fafnir asked Lucoa to lend him her power. He wanted her to be a model for his vulgar art. Kobayashi explained why humans sleep to Tohru, who is not used to sleeping. Kanna and her friends also went out ghost-hunting.

Episode 8 Speculations and Discussions

Episode 8 is titled “The World’s Only (Insert Phrase You Like Here).”

From the preview at the end of the episode, we can surely expect to see Tohru be put in a spot where she is compelled to transform into her dragon form. 

I’m assuming that Tohru is under the impression that Kobayashi is in need of help, which is why she takes drastic measures like transforming. 

Now either Kobayashi is actually in need of help, or Tohru has completely misread the situation. None of us can know for sure till we watch the next episode.

No, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is not on break this week. Episode 8 is set to air as scheduled. No delay has been announced.

Recap of Episode 7

Episode 7, titled “Common Sense (It’s Different For Everyone),” starts with Fafnir asking Lucoa for a favor. 

They go back to his place, where he tells her that he is writing another book and needs her to be his model. 

He explains the book’s story, which goes like a young boy and an older woman live together. However, the older woman keeps trying to do vulgar things with the boy, making the boy curse her in several ways. 

Fafnir asks Lucoa to be the model of the vulgar older woman. At first, she is hesitant, but then she agrees to it. 

Lucoa also decides to publish her own book, which is just images of her in different cosplays. On the day of the exhibition, Lucoa sells all her books, whereas Fafnir does not sell a single one. 

Tohru is very amused by the simple action of humans sleeping. She tells Kobayashi that she used to never sleep back in her world, but after coming to this world, she feels sleepy more often.

Later, when she runs an errand, she meets Elma and subtly expresses her inner thoughts to her. 

She states how she is very bored in this world, but she enjoys this boredom as she was always fighting in her previous world. The same night, she reflects on her thoughts and falls asleep. 

Kanna and her friends decide to check out rumors of a ghost in the art prep room. They indulge in multiple fun activities during this search, like appointing a leader and playing football with a shoe. 

The episode ends with Kanna realizing that the ghost in the art prep room is just a fairy who is unable to go back to his world. She sends him back to his world with Illulu’s help.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a Slice of life, fantasy, comedy manga written and illustrated by Cool-Kyou Shinja. The manga began serialization in Monthly Action magazine from May 25, 2013.

It revolves around Kobayashi, a stoic programmer. While on her way to work, Kobayashi gets frightened after seeing the head of a dragon. Staring at her, the dragon immediately transforms into a young girl dressed in a maid outfit.

Introducing herself as Tooru, she reminds Kobayashi of her offer to stay in her home while she was drunk the previous night. Regretting her decision, she agrees to Tooru’s request to work as a personal maidservant to repay the debt for a shelter.
