Sachiko Kashiwaba’s Misaki no Mayoiga (The Abandoned House by the Cape) follows a 17-year-old girl who is searching for a place of her own in this world.
This is a nostalgic story of “regeneration” that can warm the reader’s heart.
Anime studio David Production revealed that they are producing an anime film based on the original novel. The film will debut in 2021, but the exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet.
A promotional video for the anime film was released along with the announcement.
The video shows the look of the traditional Japanese house named “Mayoiga.” From this house, one can see the sea and feel the touch of warmth and nostalgia.
Here, a 17-year-old girl, who is trying to find her place in the world, begins a new life with people completely unrelated to her.
Fuji TV opened an official website for the anime film, which revealed the main staff and a teaser visual.
In the visual, we get to see the main character, Moeka, standing near the traditional Japanese house with a view of the sea.
