Most anime are adapted from already published materials like manga and light novels. There are also examples of original anime projects like Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann, and Psycho-Pass that became popular but involved anime production studios only.
This is why when someone from a different industry or field of knowledge gets involved in anime, it sounds interesting. If the plot setting matches the same, we can expect a well-thought-out world with a good storyline.
Recently, Yanmar Holdings, an agriculture machine manufacturing company, announced that it is working on an original anime project titled ‘Miru’ (To Envision). It also revealed some of the staff members working on the anime.
The visual above is designed by YKBX. Yanmar Holdings Inc.’s Brand Department Design Office is responsible for the robot’s designs. Yū Iguchi is the concept artist for the robot in the visual. The anime will also feature more robots by designers from Yanmar.
‘Miru’ is based on the dynamic relationship between man and nature. The protagonist is a girl who works with friends and robots to create a future where humans and nature coexist and thrive. This coincides with Yanmar’s vision of a sustainable environment and a carbon-free society.
Some staff members were revealed with the announcement. The anime will also have a booth and panel at the Anime Expo from July 1 – 4, featuring a robot statue, a key visual, and a concept movie directed by YKBX. Here are the members revealed by the website:

The idea of a robot anime and creating a sustainable world creates an idyllic vision where civilizations look green and metallic gray. We do connect with what Yanmar wants to convey, but there needs to be more information about the plot and characters, so we will wait for that.
About Miru (Original Anime Project)
Miru (To Envision) is an original anime project produced by the agriculture machine company Yanmar. Shigeru Morita is writing the scripts and design company btrax is assisting with the project. It features robots by designers from Yanmar.
The anime shows the conflict and harmony between humans and nature. It tells the story of a girl who works together with her friends and robots to create a balanced future where humans and nature coexist and grow together.
