Forza Horizon 5 was officially revealed earlier this week at E3 2021, and now Microsoft has announced what kind of specs your PC will need to run the new title. The good news is that pretty much any current-gen gaming rig should play the game just fine. However, if you’re looking for maximum detail and peak resolutions, you will need higher-end hardware.
Here’s a breakdown of the Minimum Specs required for the game as found on its Steam page which also lists a couple of new screenshots:
- OS: Windows 10 version 15063.0 or higher
- Processor: Intel i3-4170 @ 3.7Ghz OR Intel i5 750 @ 2.67Ghz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVidia GTX 760 OR AMD RX 460
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 80 GB available space
As you can see, you really don’t need too much for a satisfying experience with Forza 5; 80 GB of hard drive space along with 8 GB of ram is not too much to ask for by today’s standards. On the processor side, an Intel i3-4170 @ 3.7Ghz or Intel i5 750 @ 2.67Ghz should be able to get you across all those finish lines comfortably.
From a GPU standpoint, an Nvidia 650TI OR AMD R7 250x should run the game at minimum specs just fine. And if your set-up is in the mid-range to high-end category, this is a pretty modest ask.
That being said, don’t be surprised if the recommended specs of the game turn out to be quite high. Seeing the gameplay footage that developer Playground Games unveiled at E3, the game could be one of the prettiest and most technically impressive to come for this generation. So, if you’re considering upgrading all the tech in your set-up in preparation for all the new-gen titles on the way, now might be a good time.
