Minecraft fans, listen up! Mojang has some interesting news for all of you!
The Minecon 2020 event has finally received a scheduled date for its live stream, and it is coming way sooner than expected!
It shouldn’t come across as a surprise when I, and many others, claim that Minecraft is one of the most influential video games of all time!
Its popularity and immense influence are the reasons it was also inducted in the World Video Game Hall of Fame back in 2018.
A vast procedurally generated world, where the player can do anything and everything they want to; it’s a game that pushed players’ creativity to the maximum, back when it first came into the scene.
Since its inception, it has shown no signs of stopping and has only grown in popularity.
Of course, there are a ton of reasons why Minecraft became the monolithic giant that it is today.
The start of Youtube Gaming, merchandise, parodies, and so many other things contributed to making it a cultural phenomenon.
But, and I say this without a shred of doubt, one of the biggest factors for its success may have been the yearly Minecon conventions.
Which is what we’re talking about today!
We all know that 2020 has been a pretty harsh year for all of us. Not to mention, it has severely affected the gaming spectrum as well.
Many titles, console-releases, and conventions have been put on hold this year, many of which have even been postponed to 2021. But it seems that Minecon is one big exception for the case, to the delight of many fans.
Mojang, on their official Minecraft, has revealed the details for their much-anticipated Minecon 2020!
1. When exactly is the upcoming Minecon?
According to the official website, Minecon 2020, now under the name of Minecraft Live, is scheduled for a live stream on October 3rd at 9 AM PDT.
The event is rumored to reveal the different projects and future updates for their games.
After all, it’s almost been a year since Mojang showed fans what they’ve been working on!
Even though this is good news for fans, a piece of saddening news comes from Minecraft’s real-world convention, which was set to take place in 2020 under the name of the Minecraft Festival.
As of now, the event has been delayed all the way to 2022 due to the, you guessed it, the COVID-19 pandemic!
Mojang also announced that it would no longer be taking part in Minecraft’s community events, further saddening the player base.
But hey, it’s as our parents told us, we should celebrate the little victories and be patient for a big one to arrive!
With that, we should all be looking forward to the event that is about to take place in October for now and see where Mojang takes our favorite game from here on out!
