Michael Prince has big plans and plenty of conquests to achieve, but the latest one might be the most bizarre of them all—he wants to be the President of the United States.
Billions Season 6 Episode 11, titled Succession, was a rollercoaster ride, and things at Mike Prince Capital were far from calm.
First off, Wendy dropped a shocking bomb when she handed out copies of her book manuscript, “Rewards of the Ruthless: How I Make Wall Street Killers,” where everyone was turned into fictional characters in her story. Suffice to say, everyone was worried but also felt betrayed by her.
And then the more important bit, referring to the episode title, was when Mike Prince announced he’d decide who his successor would be in a meeting.
Spyros gets his hopes high, but Scooter and Prince are clear there’s no way he’d get the part. After a bit of suspense, Prince states that it’s either Philip or Taylor, which results in both of them trying their best to get their colleagues on their sides.
Scooter and Prince go in for a truce with Chuck, offering him various job opportunities among the many companies Prince owns. Chuck, however, is a man of pride, and to derail Prince’s plans and reputation, he gets a truck outside Prince’s house to display his $16 billion net worth.
Seeing how Prince had been pushing the image of being the people’s man fighting for struggling Americans, Chuck intends to sabotage his “Mike’s Money” plan.
Then with a publicity stunt, Prince puts on an act of refusing to work with the Chinese government as he doesn’t condone human rights abuse, saving face. Chuck, Dave, and everyone else is questioning why Prince is doing what he’s doing.
And then, as if revealing the big surprise in the final act of a play, Mike Prince starts to prepare a run for President of the United States in 2028—complete with a cute little bumper sticker that reads “I LIKE MIKE 2028.”
Guess he wasn’t kidding when he told Wendy that he considered himself to be one of the most powerful men in recent times.
Chuck finds this hard to digest. Who knows what the ex-general attorney will plan next to stop Prince from gaining any more authority than he already has. You best believe he wants to take Prince down with him if it’s the last thing he ever does.
The Episode 12 promo teased that both Prince and Chuck’s futures are at stake as either one of them faces the risk of indictment. Bet your money on who’ll be going to jail, but the look on Prince’s face suggests it’s probably Chuck.
Billions Season 6 Episode 12, Cold Storage, comes out on Showtime on April 10.
