The opening theme, together with the animation, just screams 2000’s shounen.
Yamato is a teenage school student who, along with his friend/enemy Hijikata and Teru, pilots the Musashi- a mega alien killing machine.
In the beginning, Kiyoka tells the members of her news reporters club that something suspicious is taking place in the city, like a conspiracy theory. Apparently a civilian was stabbed to death on his way to work.
A “Rogue” pilot is mysteriously killed. Arshem, who has possessed Asuna’s body, tries to kill Yamato a bunch of times but fails.
To come up with an excuse, she ends up confessing her love for Yamato. Yamato is weirded out, but doesn’t pay much mind to it.
Kirishima suspects her teacher Hakamada of foul play, and he is later seen eavesdropping on Yamato’s conversation. There have also been killings of three pilots by mysterious hooded figures. Are there alien spies among the humans?
Episode 4 Speculations
Hiroshima seems to be a bubbly and charming girl on the surface, but her comments about Hakamada suggest there’s more to it than meets the eye.
Considering how he eavesdropped on Asuna and Yamamoto’s conversation, Kirishima’s suspicion might be correct. There is also the question of how does she know what she knows.
Arshem possesses Asuna but after some time has to let her go when she’s met with resistance. This doesn’t bode well for Asuna because that would mean Arshem will go in and out of her body.
On a different note, Arshem, although in Asuna’s body, gives Yamato a false confession of love. This may be, as fans predict, the start of a loveline.
Episode 4 Release Date
Episode 4 of the Megaton Musashi anime has been released on Friday, Oct 22, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.
This anime runs on a weekly schedule. New episode releases are seven days apart.

Episode 3 Recap
The episode starts with Kiyoka mentioning this weird feeling that something is happening in the city where she lives.
On the street, a civilian is seen walking briskly to his work, but he fails to notice a hooded figure following him. The stalker is seen carrying a knife similar to the one Arshem had. The hooded stalker stabs the civilian and turns around to give the surveillance camera a menacing look.
Minami is seen waking up looking pale and sick. She rejects an incoming phone call and injects herself with a strange purple liquid.
Teru comes to visit Minami because of the emergency call she didn’t pick up. He can tell that Minami doesn’t look right, and to confirm his suspicions, Minami faints.
A friend of Kiyoka was seen getting a call and running off somewhere with a disturbed expression on her face. Kirishima tries asking out her teacher Hakamada but gets rejected.
Saotome berates her because flirting with your teacher can never work out well for anyone. Kirishima later has a sudden tone shift and says Hakamada is hiding something.
Hijikata later informs Yamato of Teru’s message about a civilian office worker who was secretly a pilot, being killed who happened to be the father of the girl who had hurriedly left earlier.
As Yamato walks back home alone, Asuna, possessed by Arshem, is seen stalking him. She takes the knife and tries to stab Yamato with it, but coincidentally he dodges without realizing it.
This happens a few times, but he ends up catching her. He asks her why she’s following him. Her subordinate suggests giving the excuse that she has a crush on him.
When Teru asks Minami why she was sick that morning, she replies with “girl problems” like she just wanted to get out of a P.E. class. Arshem later had to release possession of Asuna.
Alien Gunners attack their base, so Yamato, Hijikata and Teru, pilot the Musashi. Yamato takes all of the enemies out with a single shot of diffusion blaster.
Yamato goes to school the next day, and Asuna tells him to stay away from her because she tried to kill him when she was possessed by Arshem. Hakamada is revealed to be eavesdropping on their conversation suspiciously.

Megaton Musashi is an anime project based on a game by the same name. Level 5 founder and president Akihiro Hino is credited as the anime’s chief director and original creator, and is also writing and supervising the anime’s scripts.
The story takes place after 90 percent of humanity wiped out due to an invasion. Survivors live in a shelter where their lives are monitored, and memories of the invasion erased.
Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to pilot three machines that combine to form the Musashi robot, made out of a material named Megatronium alloy.
