Joshua and Benjamin Safdie are collaborating with Adam Sandler once again after 2019’s Uncut Gems, on a movie for Netflix which the filmmaking duo will write, produce, and direct. The untitled film’s plot and details are being kept under wraps, but Sandler confirmed that the film will center around sports memorabilia and begin filming in the summer this year.
Now, a report from Deadline states that Megan Thee Stallion has joined the cast for the upcoming sports film. You must recall seeing the Savage singer in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Good Girls.
Netflix hasn’t commented on Deadline’s report, but her casting sounds like a done deal. The American rapper will probably be starring as herself for a cameo, just like The Weeknd did in Uncut Gems. But the details regarding her role and how big it will be are currently unknown.
But since the mystery film will be set in the sports memorabilia world, she might play a different role, but other stars might appear as themselves. You can expect some star athletes in the untitled film, just like Kevin Garnett in the 2019 film by the Safdie brothers.
With no confirmation, all I can give you are theories for now, but the upcoming film is starting to sound like an interesting watch with every update. How excited are you about the Adam Sandler film? Drop your answers in the comments below.
