Black Bear Guai is one of those bosses in Black Myth: Wukong who will wind up trouble. You will come across this boss towards the end of Chapter 1. The grizzly bear might seem slow-footed at first but do not be fooled. In the second phase of the fight, you will have trouble dodging its intense attacks. Tread carefully or it will be a long-drawn fight.
Black Bear Guai Location
This fight is not optional. At the very end of Chapter 1, you will fight Black Bear Guai. It is the second form of the self-imposed King.
The bear is located at the top of the Black Wind Mountain.
Head past Black Wind cave and up the mountain until you reach Bodhi Peak.
How to beat Black Bear Guai?
In the first phase, Black Bear Guai will attack steadily. You must attack during the intervals. Inflict as much damage as you can. As soon as its health drops below fifty percent, the bear will slam its fists into the ground and enter a rage mode. The attacks are not much different but you need to stay away from the fire. Transform into Wolf form and strike when you can.
As soon as the fight begins, start attacking. Try to move closer to do a light attack combo. However, the bear will get down on all four legs and quickly move out of the arena.
Try not to use up all your spells now. You need to save it for later.
When the boss re-enters the fight, it will lunge forward with a sharp swipe. If hit, your health will go down by a third. So, jump out of the way.
During the initial stage, it won’t launch an immediate attack but begin with a roar first. That’s your cue to step back. Even after an attack, the bear will take a good few seconds to recover. This is your window to strike.
The second time it comes back into the arena, it will perform a two-strike combo. As soon as the bear moves forward, you need to dash straight into it so it actually passes you and misses. However, it will jump into the air and do a body slam next so don’t stand as bait.
Do not turn into a Wolf initially since it will trigger its frenzied state. It will just drag on the fight. So it’s better to wait until the bear is significantly low on health.
When the bear slams its fists into the ground, covering his paws in raging fire, you know hell is about to break loose!
The arena will be covered in geysers sprouting fire. Don’t stand on them to avoid burning.
The bear’s fiery swipes will inflict severe damage so whenever you are running low on health, use Cloud Mist Black Myth Wukong.
Since the arena is covered in flames, watch where you are going. It will be tricky to navigate the bear’s attacks and the fire simultaneously but not entirely impossible.
By this stage, you will only be able to use Immobilize twice at most. Activate it along with the Guangmou Black Myth Wukong spirit to cause severe damage.
At last, just when you feel the bear is nearing its limit, transform into a Wolf and set the grizzly animal on fire. Before you know it, the fight will be done and dusted.
