Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a fun mixture of stealth, parkour, and a witty storyline. Ever since the game was launched, fans have been enjoying their time, exploring the lanes of Baghdad and uncovering hidden secrets. One such fan shared a snippet of an unexpected encounter with a furry friend.
Reddit user @suckashelfboi101 came across a tabby cat with an interesting pattern on its nose which resembled the Assassin’s Creed emblem. It was later confirmed that this was a tribute by the developers to an actual cat, who has since passed away, with the same pattern as seen in the game.
Fans were more than pleased by this feline who has since been lovingly called the “catassin.” Many have also started enquiring about its whereabouts so that they too could see the rarity for themselves.
While new players were surprised to see the protagonist interacting with cats, this is not the first instance where an animal has been the center of attraction in an Assassin’s Creed game. In Assassin’s Creed 3, players could give an Assassin’s hood to any turkey by entering a code. Several veteran fans were even reminded of it by the cat’s appearance in AC Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been applauded for its rich open-world setting, accurate historical representation of Baghdad, and the good-old parkour. However, it lacks the brilliance and finesse which would have made it a spectacular game. Fans have described Assassin’s Creed Mirage as just another basic experience with generic storyline and technical faults.
As fans are progressing in the game, more and more such Easter eggs are popping up in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Don’t be surprised to come across a reference from popular franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or even Dark Souls, as seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Nevertheless, it is interesting to see what developers have sneaked into Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
About Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is an action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux and published by Ubisoft. The game is the thirteenth primary installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While its historical timeframe precedes that of Valhalla, its modern-day framing story succeeds Valhalla’s own.
Set in 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age—in particular during the Anarchy at Samarra—the story follows Basim Ibn Ishaq (a character first introduced in Valhalla), a street thief who joins the Hidden Ones to fight for peace and liberty against the Order of the Ancients,[b] who desire peace through control. The main narrative focuses on Basim’s internal struggle between his duties as a Hidden One and his desire to uncover his mysterious past.
