The anime adaptation of Shuhei Miyazaki’s Me & Roboco is set to arrive next week. Meanwhile, the screenshots of the first episode have been released, giving us a little extra sneak peek inside the anime.
Me & Roboco is a futuristic comedy manga by Shuhei Miyazaki. The anime adaptation was announced in May this year. On November 13, the anime released its first trailer, revealing the cast, staff, opening song, and release date.
Me and Roboco will air on TV Tokyo and other associated channels on December 4, 2022. All the episodes will be about five minutes in length.
The screenshots above do not give an idea of the episode’s plot, but the robot maid is certainly at the center of it. The characters and the setting have a strong Doraemon-like feel to them, but they seem to be catering to older audiences as well.
Interestingly, the cover of the first volume parodies the cover image of Doraemon’s first volume. Me & Roboco has been in print since 2020 and stood at 13th place in the 2021 Next Manga Awards. It also stood at 11th place in the list of Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics of 2022.
