The first images of the upcoming He-Man sequel series Masters of the Universe: Revelation have been teased by director Kevin Smith to be releasing soon. As per reports, the series will follow Teela as she searches for the Power Sword.
Now, Smith has given an update on the status of his series, during the Fatman Beyond podcast, which is hosted by the former and co-host Marc Bernardin. Although unsure whether he is allowed to divulge details, Smith revealed that the first images of the forthcoming show could be released sometime this week.
He also noted that it would be followed by the release of the trailer from the streaming platform. Check out his statement below:
“I believe…this week perhaps, you may be seeing some imagery. I’m not sure if I’m at liberty to say, but there’s a preview coming. I think that’s this coming week…In other news, I saw the teaser trailer….so I can’t say when you’re going to see it, but if I’m seeing it now, then it’s coming fairly soon.”

Considering Smith’s recent confession about his knowledge of when the show is set to premiere, it seems his timetable is on track. Furthermore, with production having begun in 2019, the time frame of the show’s promotions and release could be imminent.
In his statement, Smith also praised Netflix’s marketing department for having done a “wonderful” job in the trailer’s making by combining clips and adding “a piece of music that’s just absolute chef’s kiss.”
Noah Centineo’s departure from the project was met with disappointment by fans who were anticipating the actor’s portrayal as He-Man, but Smith’s tease has assured there are better things to come. However, as of now, it remains unclear whether the show will be connected to the Emmy award-winning She-Ra.
But even if it doesn’t, a standalone might not be as bad and could instead do well for the upcoming series.
The Masters of the Universe franchise first came into existence in the early 80s. Developed by Mattel, they expanded it into a world of television shows after the company released its original toy line and mini-comics.
The first to debut was the sequel series She-Ra: Princess of Power in 1985, followed by He-Man in 1987. The franchise was revived by Netflix almost three decades later in 2018 with a She-Ra reboot. The streaming giant later announced in 2019 that two additional animated He-Man series are also in the works.
