Their battle was rather short and ended sooner than expected. Macaron tried to overwhelm Rayne, but he grossly underestimated his abilities, forcing him to escape by the end. 

The Divine Visionary Candidate Exams have finally begun, and the hype is at its peak. Everyone learned about Mash’s lack of magic abilities, and he faced criticism and sloganeer. 

However, Mash seems to be unaffected by all the backlash, just as expected.

1. Episode 4 Release Date

Episode 4 of Mashle: The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc will be released on Saturday, January 27, 2024. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Saturday. You can watch Mashle: Season 2 on Crunchyroll.

2. Episode 4 Speculations

The students will face a brutal opponent in episode 4 of Mashle: Season 2, titled “Mash Burnedead and the Brawny Ballon.”

It will be an interesting event to witness as the Deadervants they will be fighting are immune to magic, so it will require more than magical abilities to defeat these giant beasts and get the key to escape the warzone. 

This exam will test how well a magic user can escape at times of adversaries beyond their control. However, Mash doesn’t seem to care about any of this and will only focus on getting the key through the way of his fists. 

3. Episode 3 Recap

The episode begins with a little explanation about who is a prefect. A student with extraordinary skills and the capability to become a divine visionary is made prefect for a dorm. 

The episode tells us about a tournament held a few years ago, where 13-15-year-old middle school students were made to compete with each other. In this tournament, one student defeated everyone, Margarette Macaron, who was only nine years old then.

Back in the present, Rayne blocks Macaron’s way. Macaron takes out his piano and starts playing it. He stops after playing it for some time, but Rayne has no clue what is happening.

They begin their battle. Meanwhile, Mash and his friends are busy playing a board game. Macaron surrounds Rayne with musical note bubbles that will explode if Rayne casts a spell. 

Macaron starts talking about the importance of simulation in one’s life and calls Rayne boring for meddling in other’s affairs. Rayne tells Macaron that Mash is a brazen kid ready to change the world’s perception. 

Nerey asks Wahlberg about the danger of Rayne fighting Macaron. Wahlberg doesn’t seem to be stressed about it. He asks Nerey about marks and tells him that Rayne is the youngest ever to get three marks on his face.

After getting stressed playing the board game, Mash decides to head out for a walk. He goes to a secluded place to eat a special cream puff. He finds Rayne and Macaron fighting. 

Macaron releases another spell at Rayne, thinking it will force him to use a spell. Wahlberg tells Nerey that a three-line magic user can bring out the true form of a wand. 

Their power is able to call upon a god’s strength from within a wand. Rayne cancels all of Macaron’s attacks and launches a giant spell that forces the latter to escape for the time being. Mash comes from behind and thanks Rayne. 

Everyone is either hyped or tensed about the Visionary Exams. The selection process is divided into three stages. First is coin acquisition, the second is the Divine Visionary Candidate Exam, and the third is the Divine Visionart Elect Final Exam. 

All twelve candidates, including Macaron, enter the ring. Mash is welcomed with slogans telling him to go home. The first stage is Deadervant’s Haunt, where the students must find a key in a dense forest while fighting strong monsters. 

So the exam begins.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Kōmoto. It was launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in January 2020 and ended in July 2023, with its chapters collected in 18 tankōbon volumes.

Set in a magic world, Mash Burnedead is a young man who was born without magic. In order to live a peaceful life with his adoptive grandfather, he needs to become a Divine Visionary, a title given to exceptional students from the Easton Magic Academy.

Mash goes to the magic school, despite not having any magic, and must survive by only relying on his muscles.
