Aki has shown Masamune how far he has come since childhood, which moved him to tears. However, she refused to accept his White Day chocolate gift and left immediately after. This could be her way of breaking up since she thinks Masamune doesn’t even like her.

One of the rabbit-shaped cookies reminds him of Aki, so he buys it. The following day, Aki heads out in the morning, well-dressed for the date. They meet at a regular drugstore, and Aki approaches one of the store salesmen and asks him if he remembers her.

She reminds him that he played near Aki’s mansion and bullied Masamune as a kid. He gets nervous and apologizes to Masamune, and the two leave the store. Later, he says that the experience wasn’t even that scary since he’s already moved on from that past.

He hands her the chocolate, but she says she can’t accept this. She apologizes and leaves him with a vague parting remark, confusing Masamune.

Masamune-kun’s Revenge is a manga by Hazuki Takeoka and Tiv which was originally serialized in Monthly Comic Rex Magazine by Ichijinsha from October 12 to June 2018. It received a 12-episode anime in 2017. A second season will be released in July 2023.

The series revolves around Masamune, a guy who used to be chubby and after getting bullied by Aki Adagaki, he decided to transform himself. Cut to high school when he has become slim, studious, and athletic. Now, Aki can’t recognize him.

Thus, Masamune swears that he will make Aki fall in love with him and then reject her so that he can take revenge.
